From the food, to the service and atmosphere, Bistrode CBD is sublime. With attentive and knowledgable servers and food cooked to perfection our dinner experience was outstanding. For starter, the spanner crab was extremely fresh with avocado and it's sauce complementing it flawlessly and highlighting it's superb flavour. The veal schnitzel was moist and tender featuring a fried egg with a perfectly formed skin, which when broken, released a yoke of impeccable consistency and flavour; topped with capers and pickled anchovies the dish harmonised it's flavours and aromas faultlessly for an incredible sensory experience. The sorbets were flavoursome with a delicate balance to ensure the ultimate level of sweetness leaving the palette refreshed and giving the experience it's ultimate crescendo. Bistrode CBD is an elegant and welcoming venue for a business dinner, casual outing with friends or romantic night out. With an inviting menu, generous servings and extensive wine list, it's certain to appeal to everyone.
Great service with a smile. oysters and octopus salad were delicious entrees and so was the sirloin steak, cooked to perfection. Honey tart and peanut butter ice cream was a great finish to a great dinner! Recommend!
Classy interiors, old school charm. The staff were very polite but impersonal. Food was fairly ordinary, to be fair though, we choose the set pre theatre menu which has limited choices. Maybe the full menu is better...
Really quite disappointing. Service and wine list were great but the food was neither inspired or plentiful. We had the set menu for a group of 20 . Most chose the smoked salmon (just some smoked salmon and rocket on a plate) or the pumpkin, spinach and goats cheese salad - just 2 cubes of pumpkin in mine. Servings were quite small - the only vegetarian option (eggplant curry) was more like an entrée size, and my chicken was over-cooked and tough. Dessert - the famous honey tart was so sweet as to be inedible and had no discernible flavour. Most were uneaten but no question was asked as to why. Can't see where the Chef's hat came from - have been to much better.
49 for nicely cooked meat with nothing but butter and parcley. For 10 you could get some weird coliflour or salad. We ordered some ciders and non sparkling water and got stung 10 for a bottle of water. The food was nice but felt like I was taken advantage of to take my money.
Food is good and with good quality. However it might be better if there are more choices on the menu. A good selection of wine menu.
Fine food, fast. Came here for a Monday lunch and was impressed by the atmosphere, service and quality.
