This is my go-to place for a weekend brunch, excellent experience every single time. Food is top notch, as in you can tell the quality is above average and the dishes are a bit innovative too, not your standard breakfast menu. Coffee's good and service always attentive. Also really like the decor here. Haven't got a bad word to say about Baroque. Haven't tried it for dinner yet but definitely planning to do that soon!

Food was full of flavour! Delicious! Service was average. We asked twice for a high chair and it never came and then the wriggly one knocked over a coffee and broke the cup - instant high chair arrival. Amazing what service is provided after the fact.
Indulgence is probably the best word to describe Baroque. After some secret women's business; Mel and I decided to spoil ourselves with some dessert at Baroque. The salted caramel macaroon was heaven. Absolute heaven. The passionfruit macaroon was good too but that salted caramel macaroon took me to new sweet heavenly heights. The chocolate dessert was also a delight if you can handle sugar hit after sugar hit. It was so beautifully presented and definitely fulfilled my chocolate cravings.
Baroque is a stylish Patisserie/Cafe by day and Bistro by night in the heart of Sydney's historic Rocks suburb. The friendly team serve a great breakfast, coffee with their own range of pastries and macaroons, lunch and evening meals. It is rightly recommended by Time Out magazine and although I haven't yet had the pleasure of the evening Bistro I expect it won't disappoint, although check the website for evening opening times as the Bistro is not open every night.
My wife found this restaurant online and for how it presented, we booked. Having gotten there on a cold and windy Saturday night, we were welcomed warmly and taken to our table set especially as we had our baby with us too. I loved the place from top to tail. I would normally have given it a full complement of 10/10 ratings, but my wife said that two very minor things were not perfect in her eyes. She prefers more modern designs to interiors instead or the wonderful eclectic feel that Baroque provides. And the food was fabulous, but did leave the smallest room for improvement. I would not hesitate one second to return here though. I found items on the menu that I'd been hoping to experience for years and was treated to such a skilled and great tasting preparation of them - brilliant! Desserts are the weakness if my wife and I; and all night we ... how it presented, we booked. Desserts are the weakness if my wife and I; and all night we were eying off the pastry section of the kitchen and trying to choose what to indulge in. My choice of 'the pompadour' was one of the most delicious sweets I've ever had and so delicately constructed.
Baroque is a phenomenal restaurant. I can never fault a single step they do and having a sweet tooth, their pastry section is complete heaven. As a quick treat, their macarons are perfect and for an indulgence, their (eat-in) desserts are to die for.
Marketed at casual fine dinning? casual as in sloppy and the only thing fine that day was the weather. Normally, I'm not a difficult customer, Baroque is not exactly cheap, small portions, ordinary service and antiquated payment system make this a brunch to forget. Can't charge those prices with such shitty service. 15 minutes wait to get out, I felt that they should have paid me for inconvenience. Pastry was their only saving grace otherwise would rate them a 1/5. Full review and photos on my blog.
Had my first salted caramel macarons here, and they were perfect. I can't seem to stop going back for more every time I pass Baroque. Coffee is well done and consistent with every visit. Great place to sit for a coffee and people watch, as its located on a bust street corner in the Rocks.
