Really unhappy with this company. I had my contents insurance with them for 4 years. Then early in march I received a text saying that I hadn't renewed my insurance and that I had 21 days to renew or I wouldn't be covered. Which would have been fair, except I never received my renewal information, by post or email. I attempted to call customer care but was on hold so long I hung up and sent an email instead. Upon trying to log into my online account with them I kept getting an error message saying I didn't have an account? A few days later, late one night, I had my renewal emailed to me. As it was late, I decided to read it over the next morning. However by morning I had received a second email saying my policy had been cancelled and I was no longer covered, well within the 21 days I supposedly had to pay. Then a fortnight or so later, I received an email from Allianz asking me to give feedback on how satisfied I was with the process of cancelling my policy. Are you kidding? Well, since they wanted my answer so badly, here it is. And here it will be on any other forum I am able to find. Good riddance!
This car insurance is a none other than a real life joke. Just wanted to know the reason, the smash repair demanded excess fees for fixing my car, although I was not at fault and the third party excepted responsibility and lodged the claim on 24/2/21. I was declined to pick up my car and wanted bit of help from ALLIANCE . It took 15 minutes to get someone from other side, I was asked to fill up a description form, although all detail descriptions was done on 24/2/21. I fill them up, emailed it and rang again. It took 21 minutes to get someone, had to start from beginning again. I just requested, if she could eliminate the excess fees as there’s no dispute, and I can pick up my car without paying the excess. I was put on hold for 42 minutes, totally new person turned up, asked me the reason for ringing him, I explained again, he listened comely and stated I was transferred to the wrong territory and put me on hold again to direct me to the right department. Another 5 minutes, I was get disconnected. Rang back again, this time I requested a call back. I got a call after 25 minutes, Went through from beginning again. She advised me to pay the excess, pick the car and solve it later or wait until tomorrow morning to get a phone call. Never experienced such a lack of coordination, unprofessional service ever.
This company is a joke. Called five times just want to figure out whether my health insurance covers a simple surgery. And I got five different answers. But none of these answers really answered my questions!!!! How hard is it? I just want to know does my insurance cover the freaking surgery? I provided everything, surgery item number, hospital name, hospital quote, surgeon quote, literally everything! It just a simple yes or no. You are the insurance provider and you don’t even know whether it’s cover or not. That’s completely insane!
I would give them zero rating if it was possible. I put in a claim regarding water damage to my house after the recent heavy rain/storm in Sydney. The contractors engaged by Allianz were clearly incompetent in identifying the problem blaming it on wear and tear and maintenance problems. Should be noted that Sydney had 1 in 50 year rain event and no amount of clear gutter will be able to drain such volume of water in such a short time. If I can't rely on the insurance for such a rare unexpected event there is no point insuring the property with Allianz. Allianz's (and their incompetent subbies) went above and beyond looking for reasons to blame it on the house being old and putting it against maintenance. It would be quite naïve to think that much water can leak through a minor crack/opening on a vertical wall. the end result was that the main claim that was regarding the roof got rejected and they offered to fix the internal damage. Allianz definitely need to step up here and work with their customers.
I moved to Allianz based off their reviews but was nothing but disappointed. Three weeks after my policy started I was side-swiped by a car while I was parked and out for lunch. The person that hit me didn't leave a note and just drove off. They were great in that they covered the repair, although as the person that hit my car didn't leave a note I was deemed the at- fault driver. The car was repaired to a good standard and I assumed all was fine. That was until my insurance renewal turned up 11months later and the premium amount had almost doubled. Needless to say, I was disappointed at the amount but thought - that's probably fair considering that it was a new policy and I submitted a claim straight away. Fast forward another year and the renewal turned up even higher again despite no further claims. Needless to say I went to another insurer for less than half the price. I get it that they need to recover costs - especially on new policies with claims but considered my driving history and the fact that I wasn't actually at fault I thought common sense would prevail when it came to my premium on an ongoing basis. I'm now insured through a new insurer and extremely happy with the service and savings I've received and won't ever consider using Allianz again as there are far better, far fairer insurers in the market.
I have a few policies with Allianz, but over the past 6 to 8 mths things have taken a downward turn. Hard to communicate and get answers, problems with cancellations and renewals. Not clear and easy process anymore. I will be getting a new policy with them soon, I will see how it goes. If I have another bad experience I will swap companies and update my review.
The customer service is worst as they keep on hold for almost half an hour and never call you back as well...Neither did they respond to any of the emails sent...Those who are willing to join this company should think twice before getting any cover. Only if I could give a ZERO star!!!
