My daughter has seen Dr Lam since being premature in 2003. He is the best knowledgeable person. Never ever had any problems with Dr Lam or any staff. And you do have to pay at his private rooms. He is a specialist people and the best for children's eyes and laser surgery. Thank goodness we have Dr Lam.
Well, if you are Medical Dr you will certainly get special treatment, but if you are a second class citizen, i.e. you have earned your Dr with a PhD, don't expect to be treated nicely. Unfriendly reception staff stuffed up today and were indicating that I would be bulk billed - I thought this was a result of the conversation with Dr Lam about a 4 months hospital stay with our baby - but it turns out that I was offered to be bulk billed because I have Dr as a title. Upon clarification that my Dr is just in law, the receptionists, explained that I cannot be bulk billed and would have to cough up 320 for a 5 min consultation. Nice to know that Medical Drs are still being treated like the gods in white. Really appalling and disappointing!
Doctor is good but very long waiting. Booked appointment for 1 hour finish in 15 minute. They booked multiple appointment at the same time. Staff not friendly.
Dr Lam has been truly outstanding. We were led to Dr Lam after seeing the Perth version of "Doc Martin" who basically offered no advice and indicated our son had a problem. We already knew that. It's what we went there for in the first place. Goodbye Doc Martin, Hello Doc Lam. Outstanding from the first visit, our son who was born with a "Lazy Eye" has had his future changed by this man. When his lazy eye became evident it was concerning, but as it became clear the eye was never straight we were pretty worried. Doctor Lam performed his incredible work as soon as our son was old enough and his eye that wouldn't look straight now has no issue doing that, and has incredibly good range. He may be more expensive than some, but just take five and rationalise it. I would say over the years we have spent 5000 - 6000. If your kid can't see properly at 18, gets mocked through their teenage years and has whatever self esteem issues get attached to that problem throughout the rest of their life I am quite certain that you would do whatever you could to go back in time and do what it takes. If it takes thousands of dollars now it's worth it! Doctor Lam is a lifesaver today that impacts your child's tomorrow. We have several more years of seeing him to ensure the best result. He's a skilled guy, and very good at explaining what is going on. The best out there, and so very thankful for his incredible work.
I don't know how anyone can say Dr Geoffrey Lam is an idiot. Our little boy had a botched squint operation in the UK and when we arrived in Australia, Dr Lam advised us that, without an urgent operation, our son would lose his sight. Although we had no insurance to pay, Dr Lam - who is a deeply caring person with a lovely bedside manner - saved our son's sight. What's more, years later, when our son started doing screen acting, the producer of a film that won at the Oakland Film Festival that he had been involved in told us that our son had a great future in film acting - and commented what beautiful eyes he has. That really moved me, as nobody knew what our child had been through, at only three years old. We are indebted to Dr Lam.
Great clinic, staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr Lam was brilliant with my 5 year old and explained everything very clearly.
Reception is not that welcoming and in some cases found providing misleading info which cost me more than the normal pay.
