Strongly recommend the Italian sausages, any pork item, and the specialty (South African) sausages. Quality there can’t be beat. Can’t speak to anything else, but I have been impressed so far. Good selection of out-of-the-way foods: lamb tongue, tripe, chicken livers, etc. also frozen donuts because why not?
Terrible meat. Bought from here on 9th August 2020 and haven't been able to finish what we've cooked. Crumbed steak was chewy and tasteless. We got the butcher's special meatlovers sausages that smelt disgusting when the bag was opened and were basically inedible. There was no flavour to them and smell was overpowering. We also got some marinated spare ribs for tomorrow but will not be risking it. 50 worth of meat and we have been feeling sick. If you are used to quality butcher meat, don't buy from here. Edit after seeing reply: the meat we bought from your shop is long in the bin so we cannot bring it in. I'm sorry for the harsh review, but my partner and I did buy from your store and none of the meat was what I would call "fresh".
3 rashers when I'd ask for 2; smelly yearling steak (45/kg) that gave me the runs; 200g worth of trimming off the 500g lamb stir-fry I paid for; and today I had to throw out two marinated pork spare ribs I'd defrosted overnight because they just smelled foul. I want to support small business during this time, but there's no way in Hades I'll spend another dollar here! (Edit: Reading the reviews it looks like off meat is a pretty consistent thing for these chumps too. Don't risk it folks. They're bad news.)
As you can see, the wors cooks up lovely. Plenty of flare ups to make the neighborhood jealous.
worst meat ive ever eaten - or tried to eat!! bbq meat was so old and chewy, couldnt be classed as food. beef burgers were off. try to support local business but never again, money wasted. should have gone to Coles.
got some BBQ sausages off them a couple days ago, they were FANTASTIC, perfect flavour and great quality, thanks so much guys. Stay safe & healthy!
Absolutely worst meat ever tasted had to throw it all out even the animals wouldn't touch it ...bbq steak, crumb steak and sausages ...will never go back ...Regular at Jack Purcell Meats always good value and great meat ..once bitten twice shy.
