I am generally happy with the quality of the produce. I would give 5 stars if this business made some advances with its packaging. I think that foam trays are not necessary. They cannot be recycled. It would be wonderful to see a Fruit and Veg business take a bold stand and completely move away from this method of packaging. Even if clear plastic containers were the alternative because at least these can be recycled. I would love to see a reward system to customers who bring their own bags so that customers can remove the plastic film after their purchase has been made and then place it in a soft plastics recycling bin near the counter so that at the end of the day Spuds and Plums can take this waste to the Redcycle bins at Coles which is just near the store. I would like to suggest that signs are printed to encourage customers to practice the recycling of plastic film and plastic containers . Customers could remove their produce from the containers as well and place it in their own bags, then leave the containers with the store so that these can be recycled. Its not difficult to find new ways of tackling the packaging problem. We can think outside the box and not just say its all too hard. We can turn things around little by little. Its a huge problem but I am sure that it would be a huge tick for Spuds and Plums in the eyes of many customers if they could see some initiatives being taken to address this problem.

Will never shop here again. Decided to support the local and get a couple kilos of bananas instead of getting it from Coles even though I was already in there. Worst mistake. Purposely bought them still slightly green as I always do. After arriving home, within 3-4 hours they started to get black and upon opening some up, they were all bruised and battered. Obviously palming off lower grade bananas. Very disappointed as they try to give off a gourmet vibe but they are far from it. Good luck.
I am a regular here as the Fruit and Vegetables are quite nice but the customer service today has disgusted me. I was served by a female attendant this morning named Alf, short chubby female. She asked me if I wanted a bag and I said "Yes" because I had several times items, she must have misheard me and didn't add a bag. Thinking she was going to bag my items, I waited for her to bag my items and she rudely told me I said, "You said No when I asked you!" and I replied that I said "Yes" when she asked me. Instead of trying to help me by offering a bag after I clarified that I did want a bag, she continued to rudely insist that I said "No". Alf needs a check on her customer service attitude, regardless of how good your fruit and vegetables are, if your customer service makes your customers uncomfortable, they will not return and shop elsewhere. One star is because I will not return to buy if I am treated so rudely each time I shop there.
Fruit and vegetables are very fresh and delicious, whilst a little bit expensive, but it’s expected to pay higher price for quality, just like any other product. I personally experienced a greedy customer swooping up about 8 trays of cheap mangoes on the table that sells fruit at a reduced rate. I requested to have one but she refused. The manager I am assuming witnessed this and encouraged her to give me one but she refused, not happy. Manager afterwards came over to me and apologized on her behalf, then went got two fresh mangoes and wrapped them at the same discounted price, talk about excellent customer service. Ladies at the desk are also very polite and lovely. Great work guys. Never disappointed.
My favourite grocery place to buy fruits and vegetables. They have a great range at good prices. The quality and service is great.

Good fruit and vegie shop. It is always good to check out prices first, then go into Coles to do shopping. Spuds and Plums has better quality than Coles and is better with some pricing.
