Yesterday we visited Illegal Tender. Two of us did the tour of the distillery which was worth every cent! The others ordered platters and cocktails. The drinks were delicious and unique. The platters had top quality produce and the staff were super friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit when you're in Dongara next.

Had a lovely time great tasting naturally flavoured with 6 natural Australian plants and the gin won out also merchandise was realistically priced We bought Mike a new top 30

Really enjoyed the platters we ordered and the jug of lemon, lime and bitters would have to be the best I've tasted. The tasting was interesting and enjoyed hearing the background on them. My only negative was discovering on arrival that the dog friendly area was not at our table but along the side area in the dirt, tied to a post. When I phoned I asked if there was a dog friendly area to sit. I was informed that, yes she would make sure we were seated where our dogs could go. Really angry to find out that this was not actually available and, on a fairly hot day they would be tied to a pole in the dirt. Just say not dog friendly, that way we can make arrangements.

Yeah really not that interesting. Tour format needs some work. When we finished the tour the kitchen had closed so we couldn’t purchase any drinks afterwards due to licensing. Also something that needs to be sorted out. A group of 20 potential customers left without spending any extra money. We would have at least had a few drinks each if we were allowed. The 2 tastings weren’t even the refined distillers cut and the tastings were served with warm soft drinks. Pretty amateur really.

Thanks for the tour today Amos. Great rum and tour. We purchased 5 bottles of the Distillers Cut and one bottle of gin. Very disappointed that the contents of the Distillers Cut was only 500 mls. We all thought they came in 700ml bottles. Our mistake but should be made aware of this prior to purchase.

Very dissatisfied, disappointing and not worth the time and money. 30 for an uninterested tour guide that you could not understand he spoke so quickly and robotically. Then to be told you couldn't even have a drink after the tour because of the liquor licence requires a drink to be served ancillary to a meal. Fair enough but when 20 people book the 3pm tour on Easter Sunday maybe tell them or keep the kitchen open. Plenty of money walked out the door Cody. And we won't be recommending illegal tender.

Best rum in the world, and a great tour of this family owned business. Really interesting to hear the history and what makes their methods so special.
