Loved my first visit to Underground Opera in the Reservoir. The welcome was warm, the venue fascinating and the ‘West End to Broadway’ show was great. Fantastic singing with a mix of fun as well as pathos. Everyone had a good time and I’ll certainly be back!

Went to Carols tonight. No doubt the singers are technically competent. Let’s start with the positives... when performing classical Christmas Carols it worked really well and struck the right emotional tone. The venue is outstanding and great use of the space. Now for the challenges... when performing the more modern, popular Christmas tunes it really fell flat. The humour was way too forced and the cast are not natural performers in this regard. The MC tried just too hard to be funny and he just wasn’t - it was clear his vocal ability and that of the pianist were below par compared to the rest of the cast and should have left it well alone. The set list was too mixed.. if you’re going to move through the ages with songs then do it chronologically - not just a jumbled mix of styles. It wasn’t a waste of a night, I just felt it was a waste of an opportunity for a truly spectacular classic concert.
Saw carols. Beautiful music, just the right amount humor. Highly recommend! I took my son (7years) and they were so wonderful to him.
Intimate. Great variety - some fun as well as serious pieces. Great night out!!

The Opera is fantastic. Experiences numerous of their performances such as opera in the Castle, Opera in the reservoir, Westend to Broadway, Christmas Charols... Bruce is a great MC and host and the cast is outstanding! Thank you for putting such a unique show together! Will be back!
Unique place, great performance for intimate audience! Worth seeing.!
