The selection of rocks, pebbles, and slabs at Smiling Rock is amazing. And the prices are unmatched. We purchased some beautiful travertine slabs along with boxes of rocks...and then were back the next day as Mom wanted more. The rocks are beautiful and every time it rains, or if they get wet, the beautiful colors shine through and make the garden look amazing. They also have a beautiful selection of wall cladding in all kinds of textures and materials, large paving stones in irregular shapes, and artificial turf in different colors and thickness. (And if you’re into terrariums/paludariums/aquariums they also sell some great small pieces of stone and fossilised wood by the kilo. Beautiful stuff!) Both the Manager and his storeman were very helpful, happy, and kind. They asked about our garden and what we were doing, and the Manager helped us pick the artificial turf that would be best for our yard. They’ve remembered us each time we’ve been back and have asked how the products we purchased suited our needs. We try to treat people how we would want to be treated - with respect and empathy. The store yard is not a playground, or a place to bring your kids, in general. It’s a place of business. Some people might take offence to the signage the Owner has been forced to place to remind people of this fact, but we found it perfectly understandable and weren’t at all bothered. We will be on our way back soon for the piece of turf we need! (And probably more rocks. Mom loves her rocks...)

Great place to get your pavers. Linda and Ben are very helpful. Between them, the delivery driver, Rob, and my paver, Nathan (who they can put you in touch with and who was also brilliant) they worked together to get my pavers delivered quick smart. The quality of the pavers is superb and we are very happy to recommend this place.
Today our excitement to purchase a lot of stone cladding was turned very sour because of the very bad mannered sale man, who apparently is the supervisor. We just walk away empty handed disappointed. Hey mate, please learn to speak nicely to your customer who needed your help to buy the correct measurements and quantity required.
Bought laminate flooring -- it is ridiculous, joining system is cheapest possible and makes it 3 times longer to lay than regular quality ones. DO NOT BUY LAMINATE HERE - you will spend 3 times longer to lay for saving a few bucks. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Bought few bags of pebbles/rocks for the front of the house only to find that some of the rocks were breaking apart.Had only put them down about 2/3 months ago. when I went back to smiling rock they denied that it was their rocks or that I had put acid on them. I showed them the transaction to prove it was purchased from them. Then they turn around and said that i have definitely put acid on the rocks. Then I was told that I could go to consumer affairs if I wanted to.
Bought some wall cladding and when I returned home there was some pieces cracked and broken. I returned to the shop to swap out the broken ones and was met with hostilitity from the get go. I was told I broke them and that I was possibly drunk and threw them on the ground. Do not buy from these people they are crooked as. The pieces I returned were not fit for use but I imagine they will re sell. I would give them no stars if I could. Stay away from these people and their buisness.
Great service. Bought some artificial grass in two separate transactions. Both times the manager was extremely helpful and accommodating in getting the rolls into my car. Price was best in town after hunting around for a while. And they actually have stock, unlike many others who have to order it in for you. Thank you!
Staff are very helpful, they helped load a roll of fake grass into my car. I have had a few questions around fake grass and they explained it well and helped me choose the right one. Their price is also very competitive as i have been to a couple of other shops before visiting them.
