I had a recent experience where I had to use an insurance policy, luckily I have been using Sheridan Accountants at Glenelg for around 20 years as I made contact with John & Shane our insurance contacts at Sheridans Accountants to see what the process was, John quickly arranged the relative paperwork from our insurance provider then facilitated the contact between myself and our insurance provider which resulted in a quick turnaround and a good outcome was the end result. Sheridan Accountants are our one stop for all of our Insurance requirements through John, our Taxation with Shereen Financial Advice / Superanuation with Karen. Overall the team at Sheridan Accountants are very helpful hence our over 20 years of loyalty to this well respected local company. I thoroughly recommend their professional service.

I sat in the car after my first meeting with Sean speechless. All my life I’d struggled with fear around my finances and this was made worse when I ran my deceased husbands business briefly until close a few yrs ago. I had been surrounded by high end accountancy firms and a bookkeeper who did nothing to help me understand all things financial, instead I sank even lower into a hole of dark fear and despair. Then I was introduced to Sean. Transformed is the best word to describe what happen in only half an hour. It was as though all the years of fear had gone. I was in tears of joy sitting in my car after my first meeting with Sean because what he was able to achieve was nothing short of miraculous. Freedom I tell you, freedom.

For sometime now a couple of our children (in their 20’s) have been asking us for various financial & savings advice. Having been a client of Sheridan’s for many years we urged them to see Colin Tutty & Karen Black, where amongst some general advice, the outstanding part of this was Sheridan’s “Savings First System”. Although our daughter Jo has always been a conscientious saver the “money map” simplified her overall plan. She adjusted her budget to not exceed 40% of her “fixed expenses” & this has helped enormously. By following the plan, her “emergency fund” came to the fore when COVID19 appeared, she was one of the first to lose her job and is very thankful for the savings she had which got her through until assistance was available. Our son Ben has traveled extensively for years and always only seemed to have the funds for his next adventure, he has since settled but had always struggled with savings. He has now only been following the “savings first system” for approximately 8 months and is amazed that he can now simply pay 12 months rego for his car without stressing about it, this had never happened before in his life. When speaking with Ben not long ago he also told me how good it felt to finally be on top of his credit card, another bill he has always struggled with. As parents it is great to see your children managing their money, to the point where they are financially independent and can move on to budget for the bigger things in life.

The Sheridan’s First Savings programme is a great, easy to follow system. I was already a good saver but this programme emphasised the importance of prioritising an “Emergency Fund” and this was highlighted not long after implementing this due to COVID when I lost my job. Because of this I was able to pay my bills and live relatively stress free until government assistance started. The simplification of the entire programme into the “Money Map” provides a quick easy reference to make sure you’re on track. Thanks again to Sheridan’s for a great money management tool.
