SAM is a wonderful art experience for anyone who likes to nurture themselves. Whether a lover of art or not take an hour out of your busy day and drop into this wonderfully contemporary Gallery/Museum and see the vast majority of beautiful creative work on display in the downstairs Gallery - there is interest and appeal as well as skill and diversity in their permanent collection . We are very fortunate also to have two short term exhibitions on currently, in line with the ShepArtsFestival. Shepparton Textile Artists are exhibiting in the Upstairs Foyer - these artists of tactile cloth, fabric and fibre continue to educate art lovers about the diversity of cloth and textiles. Friends of SAM will also expand your thinking about Art as they share their medium and tenacity in a variety of art works. Art lover or not you will take inspiration from all you see even in the Gallery Shop.

This was my second time to visit here. Both time, the staff here are lovely. The exhibition here is good, too! Not too big, but it’s enough for maybe 1 hour or 90 minutes visit.

Fortunate enough to visit during the Arthur Boyd exhibition. It was exceptionally well done. Excellent collection of works from other artists. For a small art museum it packs a big punch. Well worth the visit.

It's always enjoyable to visit smaller art museums in regional areas .. SAM doesn't disappoint .. well worth an hour or so ..

So many interesting works of art on display here! Pottery, sculptures, traditional paintings, plus some (strange) computer generated animations. Our group particularly liked the "Woman and child" statue on display! It is so intricately detailed that you can't help but feel like it should start moving and speaking! I highly recommend checking them out, plus it's free!
