Lovely night out at Rumi. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to returning. The banquet menu was a great way to sample many dishes for a small group. Enjoyed the cocktails and whatever the desert tea is was really fragrant and delicious. Loved it

One of the best Restaurants on the Gold Coast. The food is amazing and staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend dining here. Thanks again

We ate at this restaurant three times in 9 days while on the Gold Coast in February 2021. Given that eating out on the Gold Coast is quite expensive when compared to Melbourne, this place is no different. However, the quality of the food is exceptional and is worth EVERY cent you spend on it. You will not find a place to dine at on the Gold Coast that has better quality food than Rumi. The meat and chicken were skin and fat free, everything was cooked to perfection and the service from the wait staff was top notch. I will return there time and time again because after frequenting the Gold Coast every year since 2000,I can say with a fair bit of confidence that this is one of the best places to eat at. The Gold Coast has plenty of places with poor quality overpriced "food" but this place has set the bar so high.

Went here for dinner tonight. Wasn't bad but not what I was expecting. We had an eggplant dip and bread for a snack which was nice - bread was really good, but the dip needed more flavour. Mains were good. 2 out of 3 mains were great and would get them again. The meatball was nice, something diffetent but unfortunately i had to send it back because it was cold in the middle. Staff were apologetic and reheated. Overall, there was flavour lacking in all dishes but it was great to try a different cuisine.

We enjoy a trip to Gold Coast and a late lunch after a swim once a month. Regularly visit Shiraz at Surfers Paradise but decided to try Rumi. Unfortunately this will be our first and last visit. A few reasons 1. portions very small. Felt like rice was more of a decoration than generous serving expected in Iranian restaurant. 2. we were flabbergasted that they added 15% public holiday surcharge on our bill. There was absolutely no mention of this when we were seated, nothing mentioned on the menu and no sign at the front of the restaurant. I understand restaurants may need to add this fee, but you must advise patrons before they are seated. At this time of the year it is confusing which days are actually public holidays. The wait staff were very average stacking plates at the table in front of me. 3. We were bullied into ordering ASAP as they were expecting a large group of people. Our friends were yet to join us and the waiter was getting inpatient with us to place our order. When we left 2 hours later the mysterious large group had not even arrived and restaurant was nearly empty. Shiraz is far superior in taste, value and portion size.
