I'd give them 5 stars but when I got the puppy from here, they recommended only the Hills Science brand which is not very good. They seemed to disapprove of me when I told them I was not going to be taking any as I would not feed such artificial food to my little puppy (who is now a big dog). While I understand I was giving the puppy different food, I was giving him raw food, which was fine. He had no issues at all. I think they just need to understand that not everything needs to be in absolutes.

You can adopt rabbits, dogs.and cats. Kitten and puppy are very popular. Some dogs are not very nice to the strangers. Some animals are not open.to families with younger kids.

Nice place, staff are very friendly and we adopted two wonderful cats from here. 4 stars instead of 5 because the website for booking over Covid is so hard to use--constantly shows as there being no slots and only if you select that you are in some other random time zone (like Canada or USA) do the empty slots get shown. I called twice during booking but staff weren't able to help me.

Covid restrictions mean a booking is required to view the shelter animals. Booking made, we arrived on time and within 10 minutes we were seen by one of the staff. She was able to give us a detailed profile of the dog from habits to challenges and after about 20 mins, she convinced us that this dog was not a good fit for our home. Some of this profiling - of the dog and the potential family - could have been done online and potentially saved a trip, but I can't fault its thoroughness or the diligence of the staff member.

Very bad adoption experience, didn't get a chance to see the dog! I tied to adopt a whippet dog, Enzo, yesterday. I have prepared all needed documents, photos of my house and big backyard, getting ready for adoption. I also double confirmed our appointment, brought all my family members and my dog with us, spent 30 mins on the road, and waited outside when I arrived. After I have done everything they required in their instruction, they told me in the last minute that Enzo has been adopted by the person in front of us. First it's very disappointed and sad that we didn't get Enzo, furthermore, we are more disappointed of RSPCA "First come first serve" adoption policy and their staffs service. We asked whether we could still see Enzo since we were already there, they simple rejected our request, and their excuse is "due to Covid " (however ACT has no active Covid cases for more than 100 days). I just wonder, since there are more than one people interested in adoption, shouldn't RSPCA interviews everybody and choose the best family for adaption? In my opinion, adoption is NOT selling an item on Gumtree, first come first server should NOT be the policy in RSPCA! We all tried to make a better home for those animals, why don't they spent a bit of time to filter all applicants and find the best home for those poor animals. I hope the manager in RSPCA could read this comments and try to make some changes on their policy.

Best of place to inquire if you want to adopt a pet. Adopt don't shop
