Some people should not be in hospitality and the girl behind the counter is one of them. You expect backpackers to have happy, friendly, helpful staff... Not rude and obnoxious.
The manger is extremely rude and not friendly at all. She was going really mad and said that she is tired when we arrived at the hostel. Overall it a bad experience. I paid about 55 per night. You better off finding a hotel for the same price. However , in her defence it seems like she is overworked and tired. The management should actually consider this.
The place was alright. Stayed here for a night just for a night stop of my trip to Cairns. Wasn’t sure at the beginning because of the lobby, but the kitchen dinning room, bathrooms and especially the room was super okay. The lady in the reception was so nice too
I stayed in this hostel as apparently all the Airbnbs in Rockhampton are booked up by roofers because of damage caused by a storm. I paid 24.50 for a dorm bed. The hostel is decent and fairly spacious. I booked a dorm bed and ended up having the room to myself. The dorm room has just one power socket which I imagine will cause issues. The kitchen has no freezer. The manager Steffi is friendly.
Very nice people! I really liked the hostel itself. It is quite big and enough room for everybody. It was quite empty when we been there though. The pool is small but clean. Also the dorms, bathroom and the kitchen was clean. The dorms ar a bit small. I really loved the dogs. The next supermarket is pretty far away by foot.
Manager was not very friendly or welcoming on arrival and leaving, grounds and parking poor, entire place needs a good clean and fixing up. Tea and coffee were not filled in the private room, worst was the shower, couldn't even wash out my hair it was that bad. Price was a bit much for what we got.
