Our young daughter had to be seen here at the Emergency Department. All of the staff were very kind and caring and also very efficient, after being triaged she was seen immediately. I cannot fault the service we received here, it was absolutely impeccable and I was very appreciative of that. I would not hesitate to attend this ED again.

INCOMPETENT, ARROGANT AND DANGEROUS STAFF IN THE ICU. NO MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT FOR SUICIDAL PT. BOTCHED CLINICAL PROCEDURES. PERFORMED UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES WITH NO RATIONALE. IGNORED PLEAS FROM FAMILY WHO ARE ALSO NURSES. LET A SICK, SEDATED AND DISORIENTED PT LEAVE BY HIMSELF. NO COLLABORATION BETWEEN TEAMS OR WITH LOVED ONES. DID NOT REFER APPROPRIATELY EVEN WHEN BEGGED. PT HAS BEEN HARMED AND IS NOW VENTILATED AGAIN. STAFF DO NOT CARE ABOUT HARM DONE TO PT AND FAMILIES DISTRESS AND REFUSE TO PROVIDE NAME OF DISCHARGING DR. ICU PATIENTS WILL CONTINUE TO BE HARMED.
Great staff and physiotherapist, seen very fast, all are polite.
My grandson who is only 14 years old got lost and his mobile was flat so he went into the Emergency at Robina and politely asked if he could charge his mobile to phone home to be collected as he had been waiting for 2 1/2 hours in the freezing cold, but his mother went to the incorrect bus stop and so she missed him after waiting 2 hours, she came home and we were worried sick and called the Police tho logged a missing report. However, at the hospital a so called 'nurse' male, glasses, middle aged, went and got a phone charger, had it in his hand, and then said "Are you even a patient?". My grandson replied, 'No, but I live a long way away and I need to ring my mother where I am to be picked up". With that, the 'nurse' said, "well no, you can't use the charger' and the boy was turned out into the night to walk for 1 1/2 hours home. This could have been another Daniel Morcombe case. Who would do that to a child?? WHERE IS THE DUTY OF CARE? I have spoken with Admin the day after and was told, 'Oh, I am surprised about that, because that particular nurse had a boy around the same age, and we help a lot of people, who come in for various reasons. Whether homeless or lost or whatever, even give Taxi vouchers to some to get home. And yet, all my grandson wanted was to charge his phone. There was no legitimate reason to refuse, except complete irresponsible behaviour by an adult health worker to the safety of a young boy.
Bring at least 1000, they don’t help you if you don’t pay and a jacket, it’s freezing cold here. I’m happy that I just have to wait a couple of weeks to get the money back... and can afford it... welcome to the USA, the doctors don’t believe in the Hippocratic oath, but in cash...
Went here last week for severe Gastro. Could not stop both ends. Paramedics were great but once they signed me in and put me in isolation room due to no other beds available, I was left to wait over 2 hours for them to come and do basically nothing for me. No anti nausea pills nothing. I was feeling better after the IV drip from the ambulance but still could've done with something else. Ended up needing pants but they had none. So had to wear a gown home. Doctor examined me eventually, she was lovely. But again I was so anxious to get home to my baby I probably down played how I felt. Went home only to throw up again and get more diarrhoea. They were very understaffed.
Freezing, freezing and freezing cold! The wait is ridiculous, hours. The staff are pleasant but unfriendly at the same time.
This hospital is as useful as an ashtray, I took a close friend there to the mental health team and after 4 hours they sent us home, go to tweed and he gets admitted.... this hospital is so bloody pathetic that I will now be seeking legal action taken against this hospital for putting peoples lives at risk and than discharging them...what happened to duty of car or do you need to be an immigrant to get medical help in this state
