Mount Cameron Trail

Good for kids
River Caves is 'relatively' dry canyon and accessible via 4WD. No wet suit is required, but expect to get shoes wet... The hike into the canyon is unmarked. Compass and orienteering skill is highly suggested; including a map of the location. No cellular or cell phone reception. Not recommended to access in night time as it is very easy to loose your orientation. Give yourself plenty of time to find it.

The entrance is hidden in bushes and ferns. Bring wet shoes, otherwise your feet would hurt walking into the canyon..one of the best experiences in blue mountain
Must experience. Only 4km return walk from the carpark
Failed to find the main canyon on this trip as we arrived late in the day and didn't have time to do a full search, but regardless the area is amazing and still managed to spend an hour searching random trails into larger valleys. If you don't want to go on a guided tour, and you have access to a 4wd, this place is easily accessible, just remember to download or print a trail map beforehand as there is no internet access out there.
One of the coolest places I've been in the blue mountains. It's pretty hidden and in Winter it is FREEZING.. but the photos speak for themselves Be sure to bring food, water and safety equipment and a spare change of clothes! The path is hard to follow at points so check out an online guide.
Great spot and out of the way.
A little difficult to find the start , but a fairly easy walk to the start of the canyon (down hill), once at the canyon very easy walking and absolutely gorgeous sight for the eyes , freezing water but shallow and no abseiling , A bit of a slog at the end to get back to the car(up hill) but well and truely worth it. Beautiful
