Food's good, don't get me wrong, just the Japanese one's are sub-par different in flavour in my opinion, I'd personally steer from Japanese. You can visibly see the difference from the poster too! Other than that, I'd come back for other dishes as the Ma Po Tofu and Roast Duck was promising.

Extraordinary vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne. The food is absolutely to die for, finding variations on typically meat-centred dishes that are more delicious than the originals. Love it and can't want to return!
Honestly can't believe it isn't a 5 star review on every platform. Can't go wrong for vegan/vegetarian dining here definitely a Melbourne gem.
Delicious food! That's was first experience in Vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne and I was so surprised when everything was so delicious and tasty. Also, the staff is so nice and helpful too. I recommend that place to enjoy at least ones of time.
The food here is so good I forgot to even take a picture until we were halfway through! We ordered the potato croquette, steamed dumplings, hot plate tofu, coconut butter chicken, char me, katsu curry and coconut rice. I honestly have no complaints about any of the dishes we ordered. It was all super delicious and I love being able to order vegan friendly food whilst still being able to enjoy the taste of "meat". As some reviewers mentioned, it is a little pricey but I would say it's pretty in line with other mock meat restaurants in Melbourne. Totally worth it nonetheless. The staff are really friendly as well and the atmosphere is quite nice. There's also ample street parking in the side streets and main road.
We ordered takeaway last night and wow their dishes are so tasty and great value. The laksa was one of my favourite I've ever had as it was so flavourful. Can't wait to experience dine in next time and try more dishes.
I REALLY REALLY love this place! Their food is very tasty and they are consistent every time. I love speaking to the staff! They are so friendly. I find their large table an absolute novelty with the lazy susan in the middle. It's really fun and interactive for large groups. But I am a bit conflicted as I found some of prices too expensive. I mean the food is great but I feel like it might not be accessible to everyone. And so with a heavy heart I dropped a star. :-(
As a vego I really wished Ren Dao would be as good as it was some years back. Had a shocking meal 6 months ago but decided to give them another go tonight. Food delivered 20 minutes late by Uber. The entrees were tiny, cold and tasteless. Overcooked and greasy. The Tom Kha soup didn’t vaguely resemble one. It was a bowl of laksa stock with nothing in it other than some tiny pieces of mock meat and what seemed like dehydrated vegetables you get in camping food. Sorry Ren Dao but it’s time it’s goodbye forever
