Wonderful old theatre that has been lovingly restored to all her glory. I have seen many productions there and always enjoy going back there. Seats are comfy with lots of leg room and I’ve sat in many different areas and always had a great view. Restrooms are clean and tidy and lots of them. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good variety of drinks and snacks. The cocktails are particularly yummy. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy theatre like it used to be.

Great place for Opera. Despite starting its life as a cinema the facilities for live music, including the orchestra pit, and the acoustics are actually very good. We were there for the first live music since Melbourne shutdown for the covid outbreak last year. The orchestra were split between the pit, for the brass, woodwind, etc. And the first rows of the stalls for strings, and harps. This was the covid safe approach. Our tickets were moved several times as the covid safe rules changed from when our initial booking was made, pre-pandemic.

OMG! People are packed in small seats for over 2.5 hr! A woman next me kept her mask off during the show! We are still under the pandemic and recommended to keep 1.5 m distance. Even small cinemas try to make a vacancy between customers but this theatre with over 2000 crowd doesn't care about it at all to earn money. Yes, it's hard time for businesses financially but the virus can not be purchased. It's a shame, Regent Theatre! The theatre should consider other options such as increasing a ticket price rather than putting people on the risk of contacting the virus, especially under the UK variant virus situation. I'll not go back there under this condition.

An absolutely stunning building, and probably the comfiest seats in any theatre. Good legroom, and all the ushers were helpful and friendly. Just expect to pay theatre prices- 5.50 for a bottle of still water. Good water, I suppose. lol
