I bought the experience and expecting I could use the voucher in the same day. It's however not the case, there is limitation in time / date for using the vouchers. With the same price, I should have gone directly to the same service provider

I loooove Redballoon!! I did few experiences in the past year as with covid nothing else to do really. and all were amazing \u003c3 The kayak at the spit in Sydney and the cheese making in Alexandria (Even tho my cheese was disgusting haha ) It was a lot of fun!! I was reading the reviews and I got so surprised about what people are saying ... for me no problem I could redeem my voucher easily and book the date I wanted. I highly recommend it !! so much choices also and for me it's the perfect gift. (We offered the canyoning in the blue moutain as a group gift and my friend was so happy) Can't wait to go as we all booked it hey hey. thank you for all the great experiences
Once in a lifetime holiday to the Whitsundays and we booked jetski for 4 through Redballoon. The provider cancelled the trip due to bad weather and we can now only get a voucher from Redballoon to use on their activities, which none of them being close to where we live and they refuse to refund our payment (1,008). Be careful of third party event booking websites. They are not helpful and will not provide refunds. (against the ACCC)
First time and probably the last time I would use Redballoon!! We booked to do a skywalk through Redballoon for two adults and two children. We didn't end up using one of the child and adult tickets because of the age limit. Centrepoint tower gave us a letter so that we could refund our tickets back. I emailed everything through to Redballoon straightaway in October and I never got a response from them. When I first called them three weeks after sending the email "Jason" - the person I talked to said he saw my email and would process the refund then with their accounts team and the refund should be in my account in 7-10days. Two weeks after and I still haven't got my refund. So I called them the second time and a different person answered and said to just wait till the end of next week. I called them again the third time and another person told me that she'll find out with the accounts team what is happening and will get back to me. Waited for two weeks after that phone call and they never got back to me. Not even emails or phone calls. Since then I've been trying to ring only to wait on the phone for more than an hour and have the line cut off. IT'S BEEN MORE THAN TWO MONTHS AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY REFUND!!!!!!!!!
What an awful service! Firstly before redeeming voucher I mentioned a note, that voucher can't be used before Jan 2021. Waited for 1 hour or so for chat on website and got response that redballoon doesn't know anything about it. Smth is written on the redballoon website and they don't know. Support person suggested that I'll contact restaurant directly. They were very surprised and told me to book experience, bcs there are no such restrictions. There have passed more than a week now after I redeemed voucher and never heard back from redballoon, while on the redballoon website it says it takes 2 business days to confirm experience. Today i decided to ask what is going on, waited in the queue for chat 40 mins and guess what I got when I was 1 st if line? This is so rude, if you have time limitations and all support people went home it make sense to inform customer, who's waiting in line for half an hour already. Never ever I'm buying smth from this service and strongly would discourage somebody to do so.
Easy to use platform!
Red Balloon thoretically offers a price guarantee that if you can find the same experience at a lower price than that offered by them they will match the price. We wanted to book an experience which on the Red balloon website which cost over 1500 (we had a voucher for 1000) - when we checked we could buy exactly the same experience for under 1000 by going directly to the provider. We asked Red Balloon to honour their price match commitment and they refused blaming the inflexibility of the provider of the experience. We contacted the provider directly to find out why and they said that they could not afford to - evidently Red Balloon charges commissions of up to 65% and they force the reduction to enable a price match to be honoured on the provider. We ended up booking directly - but we think everyone should know that if they give these gift vouchers as presents they could be paying a huge premium - far better to give cash. Red Balloon are making a huge margin to provide a fancy envelope.
