This was my 5th time diving at Wolf Rock over the last 5 years, and with each time, Wolf Rock has been an awesome dive.
The briefing provided at the shop by Emily was comprehensive with safety of customers and the marine life a priority. DO take an offered seasick pill at the briefing, it doesn't hurt and can make your day so much better... I have lived and worked on boats, and even I have felt a twinge of tummy turbulence from a day out to Wolf Rock.
The trip out to the dive site was a little rough (thank goodness EVERYONE had had a sea sickness pill), so sitting at the back of the boat is the most comfortable spot, but it is prone to getting splashes, but that's welcome relief on a hot summer morning in a black wetsuit !!
The first dive led by James was awesome, about 7 to 10m viz, but more grey nurse sharks than I could count, thousands of fish, an octopus and more sharks... fantastic.
A light lunch on the boat, take your own water bottle AND make sure you let the crew know of any special dietary requirements WHEN YOU BOOK, vegetarian, gluten free, they catered for all. And if you're really fussy, the bakery in Rainbow Beach is usually open and can make you a sandwich you can take yourself, as well as great bacon and egg muffins for brekky.
Our 2nd dive was guided by Alex, we dropped down to see a giant bull ray, and more grey nurse sharks swimming below us, above us, behind us and right between us... oh, and turtles, nudibranchs, octopus, wobbegong and other assorted fish, but who cares SHARKS everywhere !!!
Thanks James, Alex and Emily, it was another great day diving at Wolf Rock with the Wolf Rock Dive Crew.
