I took my sister who was down from Queensland to RSH to show her something special and although I have visited before and had a good time, our visit last weekend was an amazing experience. Cool, retro bluesy rock music from an amazing duo, the best gin and tonic I have had at a bar for years and extraordinary service. All delivered in the quirky, ambient heavy beauty of this magnificent hotel and surrounds. My sister was blown away!
If you're up for something different in a country pub, definitely recommend you try the Radio Springs hotel! Ken & his team made us feel very welcome, friendly & very attentive during our overnight stay. Excellent food as well, we'll definitely be back :)
Gorgeous hotel. Beauty food. Plenty of vegan options There is a rail trail bike ride from trentham to the pub. Work off the amazing lunch with a lovely ride in the country.
4.5 We chanced upon a reservation at this cosy little pub in the panic to find venues near where we were staying that served dinner. Our first pub meal and regional meal out since we had a brief escape earlier in June of this year. The interior had plenty of character with an eclectic collection of books, pictures and niknaks to keep you visually interested. We were seated at the romantic enclosed snug on the far side of the bar. Food wise a short but interesting menu with a couple of special board items and a cheerful wine list. The venue was also Carlton beer, pokies and tv free which suited us like you would not believe. We shared an interesting chicken pate entree which came with toasted bread and a juniper marmalade. For mains I stuck to traditional pub food with a chicken parma while KD went for the roasted barramundi fillet with fennel and asparagus. My parma came out wonderfully toasted with melty cheese that had nice crusty edges. The chicken itself was tender and thick and it came with fried potatoes and a cabbage slaw. KD’s fish was cooked nicely. I wish I had the skills to cook fish like this. We really enjoyed our meal here and were told that they normally have live music in the evenings which will hopefully be back in the new year when further restrictions are eased.
Quirky little hotel restaurant with a mix of fine food and pub fare that was reasonably priced for the quality. Definitely will be back.
First off, service abd hospitality was 10/10 Secondly we ate some of the best meals we have had for a very long time. Best Parma around!
Went for lunch yesterday and loved the place. The rabbit warren of period decor rooms are crammed with books and clutter. It was like having a meal inside someones home. The staff were friendly and humorous. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Definitely will be returning.
