Arrived at Refuge Cove from San Remo only to find we had less than 5 litres of fuel. Could only conclude it was due to a recent prop change and poor tide/weather. Highly embarrassed I needed fuel brought out to the cove from Welshpool. I was not confident in negotiating the narrow channels via sail to Welshpool. The Welshpool Coast Guard offered to bring the fuel out & a time of arrival. Saved me putting our boat at risk & saved our family sailing adventure. Very appreciative & mindful to never get caught out again! Well done to all the volunteers. The cove was an amazing!

Volunteer Coast Guard Station. Operating out of their main office beside the water on the Port Welshpool Coastal Reserve, Lewis St. On-Call 24/7. Call 000 in an emergency. Coast guard volunteer staff are Highly experience and highly trained with internationally recognised maritime qualifications. A lot of coast guard volunteers are full time members of other emergency services, and are also Coast Guard volunteers. Coast Guard vessels are specifically designed and built for purpose. Without the volunteer Coast guard stations around Australia's coast, particularly in locations such as this, and some also in the bigger inner water ways, a lot of vessels would be lost, and possibly people with them. Keep up the good work.
