Gay and the other staff were fantastic. We make sure to visit every time we return to the Hunter and definitely recommend this winery. The tasting costs a little more than some but you get personal service and a glass. The wine is worth it.

Service was ok -modern 'cellar door' set apart from the vineyard. The flavour of the wines was not to our taste - either very light/young or too acidic . Recommend to try other cellar doors before this one.

Definitely a higher tasting fee than other places, but didn't see any of the service problems others have reported. Had great service and they were very tolerant of a toddler who wasn't too interested in the wine. Didn't end up paying the tasting fee, bought a few boxes of red instead!

This was actually the only bad experience we had during our wine tours. We arrived and unlike other wineries we weren’t allowed to pay for our tasting right away. This was however double the price which was the first giveaway but we did proceed in light of this. From the get go they were forceful in trying to make us buy from them. Which wasn’t like the tone of other wineries. The wines sell themselves at other places. We were the only people tasting but we were not being served, only one of us would get a taste and we would have to ask Multiple times. The music was so quiet and after asking 3 times to put it up so we can’t hear each other swallow we gave up. The man who served us was rude and made us feel unwanted. The poor wine would be excused if the service was okay however it was not. Sad dip in our day but was fixed by walking ten metres down to comyn and co who only charge 5 dollars and actually make delicious wine. We proceeded to buy multiple bottles of wine. We Did let management know ay david cook however it wasn’t important to them to rectify.

There are better cellar doors to visit in the area. The tasting experience was disappointing due to the higher than average tasting fee of 10 for a maximum of 5 tastings, all of which were so small you couldn't accurately assess the wine. Overall the regimented/ impersonal approach was not in keeping with our other experiences at the Hunter.

Great cellar door tasting: Modern yet classic interior, beautiful wines (especially the Semillons) and great service

Great quality wines but pity about the service. 10 to taste ONLY FIVE wines and you can't pay another 10 to taste more, even when I committed to buying at least 2 bottles - was told it was a RSA issue (tasting at 11am...). Ended up only trying whites and didn't get to try reds. Server also emphasised we can't share tastings... but my partner is driving so he doesn't like to do proper tasting anyway. The tasting serves were barely more than a splash even for the cheapest bottles. Really disappointed in the service here. We were patient, waiting politely and quietly, even had to push back our lunch booking because it took a while to go through the tasting.
