My dog was injured while here and required veterinary treatment as a result. This was not the main issue - though how or when he sliced his leg open was not made clear beyond it "could have happened" from running past trees - as the fact that Paws for a Break chose not to contact me regarding this when it happened and tried to down play it as a wound that wouldn't require treatment when I collected him. It required three staples and antibiotics. The facility then did not make the effort to even ask how he was following this incident. I did request a refund which was processed. I also asked for the vet bill to be covered as it could not be explained how he sustained the injury and no effort was made to rectify this by looking at the facility, this was denied due to clause 8 of their contract stating that "injury may occur despite utmost care" which is within their rights but leaves a bad taste especially as the injury couldn't be explained. Workers genuinely seem to love the animals but I wouldn't send my pet here again as I don't feel it safe.

While visiting Ballarat for a few days I came across Paws, what a great place. Lovely friendly staff took care of my poodle Rosie. Initially I was only going to leave her for one day while we went to sovereign hill but she was so happy when I picked her up I actually left her here for 3 days in total. Thanks Joan for looking after my fur baby so well.
Fantastic service. Sent my puppy Spring, there for a month while at work, he loved it. Joan and her staff treat the dogs like they are their own and there is lots to keep the dogs occupied. I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for day care. Wish they were where we moved to so I could keep using them!!!!!!!
My puppy has been going there once a week for a month to give my older dog a rest from her boisterous ways and absolutely loves it. She has such a good time with the bigger dogs and comes home absolutely buggered. Their facilities are great and they look after their dogs like their own.
My dog charlie went to Paws 4 a break a bit over a week ago for one night for his first time. Upon ringing up to make an enquiry the owner Joan was very friendly and helpful, however she was away on holiday during Charlie's stay. I believe charlie felt comfortable and happy during his stay and all of the staff were very friendly. However after i returned home charlie was very unwell and did not eat any food for 2.5 days and was vomitting. I went in to paws for a break and spoke to Joans son whom i asked what the dogs might have been fed the day Charlie was there as he was at home sick, and i wondered if maybe his stomache had just not agreed with a change of his regular food. He told me that something (maybe a meat roll) had been fed to the dogs which they had later thrown out because un beknown to me, several other dogs had also become sick the same day that Charlie stayed and had also not been eating for a few days. He said he would enquire further as to the food in question and the staff member who provided it. My main disappointment is that noone rang, texted or emailed me a single message to warn me that charlie may be experiencing sick symptoms or that if he wasnt already he might develop some in future as there had been something fed to the dogs which made several other dogs sick. For the amount of money i paid for just 1 night i would have appreciated a quick message just letting me know about what had happened with the food or for someone to check in to see how Charlie was doing as he and the other dogs obviosly had developed food poisoning. This is the sickest charlie has ever been from eating anything bad in 5 years so i do worry about what was fed to the dogs and how if it was off noone could tell from looking at or smelling it. I liked the facilities and the fact that the dogs can stay over night after a day at day centre. However due to my experience i would not feel 100% comfortable booking charlie here again.
It's a great to send your furry baby for a full/half day or even an extended length of time! they learn great social skills! the facilities that are available are amazing, well kept and just astounding! There's a well sized dam for the doggo's to play in (Bathing services are available) , plenty of running space and inside there's fenced playpens! and for the dog's that need an a sleepover there's comfy accommodation!
This is an amazing doggy day care centre. Our dog is very timid and nervous with other dogs and initially was very hesitant with us leaving her there. In the end she had a great day socialising with the other dogs and we could tell when we picked her up what a great day she had. We would thoroughly recommend Paws for a Break.
Superb treatment of my beagle today. I wouldn't hesitate to use Paws for a Break again.
