Thanks to other Google user's advise, I don't have too much trouble to find this place. To use Google map for directions, just mark the destination on the closest point to the Elephant Rock's map icon on Patonga Dr, the GPS will take you to the pathway entrance where only two roadside parking spaces with uneven ground surface. The pathway is narrow but only short walk to the Rock. Little rock climbing needed at end but not difficult for me. There are few other walking trails to this place as well but this is the shortest way. If you are here for second sunset like me, try to remember your way back in dark. I was there on Easter Sunday and felt so lucky to see a beautiful second sunset...

This is an amazing place to spend some time walking around and looking at all there is to see. The first thing that I need to say is about Elephant Rock is if you use Google Maps for directions it will give you the shortest path. That been said, the parking area on Patonga Drive is very small. You might fit 2 cars there and it is right on the edge of the road. While the track to the rock is short in distance, less than 200 meters, it does require a little rock climbing in places. Fantastic views over Brisk Bay, Patonga Beach and the Hawkesbury River. The rock patterns took some finding at first because they are not at Elephant Rock. I have added a picture showing where the 2 areas are found so you don’t spend hours wondering through the bush trying to find them. The first and easiest one to find is just off Warrah Trig Trail. Drive in off Patonga Drive about 100m and park beside the quarried sandstone blocks at the edge of the trail. Walk 50m down past the sandstone blocks and you are there. The second area is best accessed by pulling up at the parking area found at the sweeping bend on Patonga Drive (Van Dahls Firetrail). Walk a short distance down the road to the location. The patterns in the stone here almost look man made. Well worth taking the time to have a look.
Exceptional views from an extraordinary rock. The track is easy to follow with a medium difficulty climb to the rock. No marking for the carpark, but the pull off is not hard to find.
A beautiful spot. A little hard to find. Small pull off on the side of the road. First pull of after Warrah Trig, and then a five minute walk up the bush trail.
