The park was crowded because of school holidays, but the animal encounters were not that busy. The bamboo cover provided much needed shade. The only disappointed was, there were no big cats except few snow leopards. Apart from that, it's good for the kids.

Fantastic place for all ages and every time we visit we discover something new. Staff are friendly and very informative. We sat in the Japanese Gardens and relaxed in the mini oasis. Wonderful day......... again!

Best place to spend the day in Melbourne and I recommend you set aside the whole day to navigate the exhibits laid out in an easy to manage loop. Comfortable walking shoes are a must and the walkways are wheelchair accessible. Apart from viewing the numerous animals there are many resting spoils and a choice of eating venues. Parking at the zoo is very reasonably priced at 2 for 5 hours. A number of clean toilets are available on site. Don't forget the camera

Had a wonderful day at the zoo and enjoyed seeing the large variety of animals. Unfortunately it rained heavily before our visit was completed that day and we were drenched which made it really hard because we were travelling by public transport to and from the zoo. What an experience!

Melbourne zoo is such a well maintained, entertaining place for kids and adults. The enclosures are well kept and animals are looked after with love and care. The grounds are a great spot for picnics and kids just enjoy every element of it. Cafes on site are very expensive but that is not a surprise. This is a good place to visit any time of the year.

The zoo has come a long way. Staff are fantastic. Animals look comfortable. Exhibitions are good but could do with some colour coding of the paths to match the maps. Big on recycling - bravo. We even had good coffee and food that didn't break the bank. Well done zoo. .Don't try to park there after 10:30 in school holidays. Yesterday, we did and failed. Today we parked in the city and caught the train. Easier by far!

Great layout, plenty of places to rest, recharge and for kids to play. Excellent interactive elements and information including practical ways we can help endangered animals, etc. Good food, great animals. We spent over 4 hours there (2 kids aged 9 and 6).

It’s perfect place to get good experience for your children and have fun with them. The environment perfect to let them know many things about the animals and how they live. You can bring your food and snacks , there many places to have your food easily. 4 to 5 hours fair enough to have good tour and shoot many photos for best memories.
