Good place to have lunch with a small to medium sized group. Plenty of cafe favourites and healthy versions of pub favourites. Friendly and helpful staff, willing to adjust the menu for specific dietary requirements. I suggest you check the specials board as they’re probably the better menu options. The cafe is nice and clean and overall has a good feel about it. Thumbs up from me.

We decided to try it as we have passed by on many occasions and it has been packed each time. The coffee is good but the teas are fragrant and delicious. The food we have tried is flavour packed and delicious - nicely balanced. Alas the poached eggs are over cooked - the yolk is solid instead or being runny. Service is a little stop start early in the day but gets going after that. Food service can be a little slow but the presentation is good.

Great place to catch up with friends. We enjoyed breakfast here - great coffee and amazing stacks!! We had the Corn Fritters and also the Dukkha Stack.

Both times I have eaten here I have been astounded by how a simple collection of ingredients can be made to taste so incredible! I ate beautifully presented, nourishing vegan bowls on both visits, served by an absolutely lovely waiter. Can not reccomend strongly enough!

Ouroboros Wholefoods I’m not sure why the café is called Ouroboros, but history tells me it is a symbol that has morphed amongst cultures (Greek, Egyptian) and later adopted into other cultures too. Broadly speaking it represents infinity. The fact that this wholefoods café is called Ouroboros might have something to do with it being a healthy and organic wholefood place which potentially this world would be in fitting with lasting longer. But that’s just a theory. When devised, the owners simply wanted a healthy haven. That’s certainly what you’ll find. Upon walking in, you see beautifully painted walls, hanging greenery and it does feel like a little oasis amidst Surry Hills. Using locally sourced produced and home-made meals, the menu is fabulous, for it suits a range of diners, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free. A menu with breakfast options, salads, more substantial meals like omelettes, paleo bowls and fritters or risotto to name a few. I loved their charred broccoli salad with crispy warm chickpeas, feta, lemon, sunflower seeds, both a vegan and gluten free dish. On a subsequent visit, when I was hungrier, the Nourish Bowl with freekeh, quinoa, tofu, kale, sumac, corn, avo, enoki mushrooms, pumpkin and sweet potato hummus was also a tasty dish and a generous serve. Complement your meal with a loose leaf coffee, cold pressed juice, coffee or even a glass of wine since they’re licensed ! They even have some guiltier pleasures like some amazing freshly baked muffins on the counter top. In the take-away counter, there’s freshly made sandwiches or vegan and refined sugar free desserts if you’re just grabbing something out of the office. Staff here have been friendly and super efficient on each occasion I visited. They also seem not to mind the business meeting or individual working away on the laptop or reading for more extended periods. The only downside is that it is only open weekdays. I can only visit when on holidays. But, see you then! Ouroboros 1
