It was a wonderful day exploring historic Ormiston House for their craft open day. Such a lovely spot and Ormiston House such a lovely landmark...
Had a lovely day
Mrs Ross was very informative on our tour! Enjoyed Devonshire tea on verandah
Great little piece of history and well worth visiting if you are in the area! Make sure to go for high tea! Gf options available
Well preserved house and outbuildings from a past era of colonial Queensland. Interesting looking at the history. Scones and tea/coffee on the verandah overlooking the water is nice (but on a busy day the coffee when served is often not hot, and is a little muddy).
There is an atmosphere is peace and quiet at Ormiston House, partly from it being the genteel house of an aristocratic gentleman. And partly from the nearby Carmelite Nunnery. It really is a most beautiful spot and well worth a visit.
Nice place for a relaxing afternoon tea with very tasty freshly baked scones with jam & cream. A bonus is visiting the beautiful historic house with its lovely garden surroundings.
