Surprisingly amazing feed today, we asked for the fresh fish to be cooked as we don't think fish should be cooked from frozen at the coast. So tasty best fish and chips besides Laurieton fish co-op in the region so far
Probably the best fish and chip place I’ve had in Australia. Competitively priced, fantastic seafood sticks and fresh fish, good size portion. It’s easy to understand why it’s always so busy. Easy to locate and only a short walk to the sand.
We ordered the fish and chips (45 family pack) with 4 pieces of Basa, calamari and chips. The Basa was the most delicious fish I’ve had. Melted in the mouth. Generous portions too. They also provided cutlery and plastic cups so that we could go straight to the park to eat. Beautiful. I look forward to visiting again.

This place gets busy and with these prices I know why! We shared a hoki and small fries with a tub of tartare for a snack, and boy was the takeout heavy. Fish was very fresh and the chips are not oily. Nice to eat on the benches outside or for taking away to a beach or your accom they pierce the paper so the chips don't get soggy, there is some baking paper under the fish, so the paper doesn't soak through.
What a great place, there was a line out the door amd across the pavement. Tables oitside only. A large range of food. Delicious.
I don’t really understand the great reviews for this fish n chip shop. The chips and batter was very oily and all of the fish VERY ‘Fishy’ the barra definitely didn’t taste like Barra. It was affordable which is what the 2 stars are for but otherwise would not recommend.
