Asked for a haircut with layers. Walked out looking a lot worse before I walked in. She gave me so many layers it now looks like I have no hair, I would have thought a hairdresser with decades of experience would know not to cut too many layers to thin hair but apparently not. If you have curly hair don't use this hairdresser. She only knows how to give a decent concave and only if she feels like giving a decent one on the day you walk in. I have been looking for a decent hairdresser who knows how to cut curly hair in Canberra for a few years now, unfortunately I am still looking. To all the curly haired females don't go to this hairdresser, curly hair needs to be cut a certain way and each hair is different, this hairdresser isn't talented with that skill. Unable to provide no stars as it doesn't let me post, she gets no star from me.

I have been attending this hair salon for a few years now. I have had many haircuts and hair colours. Maggie is very competent at providing both. I have watched her do many hair cuts for people of all ages and hair types. She can do very modern as well as traditional cuts! I think people always walk out looking (and I expect feeling) a lot better after attending Maggie's salon. I certainly do. Lately, Maggie has been using organic hair colour and I am so happy with it, I will stave off going grey for a few more years! Maggie also knows what will suit you - I now leave the hair cut and colour decision-making to Maggie and instead just relax and enjoy knowing I am in for a treat!
I had read the reviews and I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I'm not usually someone who is picky about haircuts at all. I asked for a simple trim. The woman brushed my hair from the top down ripping it through knots. She also didn't wet my hair before cutting it. She then flat ironed it without asking me. It looked OK initially but when I got home I realized it was very uneven. I wouldn't recommend spending at this place.
I agree with some of the other reviews; unfortunately, you don't really get to pick your own hairstyle here. I still had a nice enough experience, it's just not quite the way I like my hair
I got the worst brassy color and bellow average highlights with this mature lady hairdresser. The owner works alone (has no staff) and overbooks so she left me 2h 45min with bleach because she had no staff to wash me and she was bussy with other clients. She ruined my hair. Told me she used OLAPLEX but my hair was so dried out and frizzy that I doubt it. Also, i wanted "curtain" fringe and she cut mine straight. She had no idea how to give me long layers, textured bob...kept asking me how to cut my hair so I showed her a y tube video. When I said that I am not happy with the results and that I think her service does not meet professional standards but that I will pay her regardless she started abusing me. I do not recomend this salon.
I don't know the ladies name, however, I have been happy with her 8 or 9 haircuts. I pay 28 and this includes a wash. I have read the other reviews and think they a little unfair and clearly personal more than professional. The owner is a mature lady with many years experience. Her service is average with nothing outstanding. I prefer this type of service than paying 55 for a similar end result. Maggie (I believe that is her name based on the other reviews - sad that I don't know her name, she never mentioned it, nor did she ask my name). So if you want an average haircut, at super great value with no frills...this is the place to go.

Great salon and Maggie is always nice and gives a great haircut. Appointments are a must but can usually get a time when you want. Haircuts cost 27-30 and are great value.
