Don’t have your private function here!! We recently booked an event at the Maritime Museum, we signed a contact, only to be called a couple of weeks later to say THEY double booked. We have been chasing the staff for a result since weeks before Christmas and they won’t get back to us. We have a band booked, cater organised and family flying in for the event, they are aware of all of this and still will not give us a straight answer.

It is one of the highlights of the Newcastle city besides Maritime Museum & Bobby's light house. We enjoyed all the scientific experiments on display in the form of games. Old rail engines & spider rooms. If you are going to Newcastle then it is a must visit place.
Housed in a restored waterfront shed, the Maritime Centre in the heart of Newcastle is an engaging, visitor focused tribute to the central role of the port, shipping and coals in the development of Newcastle and the Hunter Region, showing the importance of the maritime industries and the sea in the character and lives of our people.
A little bit small. But some good displays
Ok but needs reorganizing. There was no set tour/time line, displays varied from the 20th century, the to the 19th century, a futuristic display then back to the 19th century. Great individual displays though.
Great fun for the whole family, really interesting place.
Trying hard but disappointing. Clearly suffering from insufficient funds and space for exhibits
My kids loved the tour with the pirate
