Beautiful restoration of the foreshore, great now that the light rail is running but they have kept the historical feeling in the area

Such a lovely shared footpath, where you can enjoy a beautiful walk along the harbour's edge, from Newcastle West to Nobbys Beach. Lovely parkland adjacent to the path, electric barbeques, seating, & gorgeous harbour views. Great for walking, cycling, skating, fishing, & watching the daily activity in the harbour, like the bulk carriers & cruise ships.

An easy, pleasing and picturesque waterside walk along the Hunter River foreshore. Follow the stringpiece from Newcastle Visitor Information, in Honeysuckle Street, all the way out to the Nobby’s Head lighthouse, and the breakwater beyond. On one side of the walk lies your choice of cafes and restaurants, benches, toilets and bus-stops. On the other, all the sights of a busy harbour: tugs, mighty iron-ore shipping, cranes, buoys, birdlife, and sparkling water.
