An excellent service provided by dedicated experienced staff. Due to govt cutbacks, it may be better if you can do some preliminary research yourself (where possible), phone through the details, and ask for an appropriate retrieval time. This office is about to move premises, it's been a hard fight to keep it open, so please support their fine work preserving our historic records.

Fantastic new location in the centre of Northbridge. It shares the same building as the Australian Taxation Office in Francis Street now. Has displays in the foyer and a sparkling new reading room/library. Welcome to the 21st Century NAA

Would be nice if some one at this office did their work and gave you the things you were looking for. Receptionist very helpful but the staff out the back make her look like and idiot when she says 20 minutes to retrieve the info for you. an hour later nothing, excuses of training someone, it will be here in a minute. My time is precious to. I wonder if the back office staff at the archives in Perth actually work, 3 other people wandered in and out of the staff only area, Oh and they all went to lunch together it seems except the receptionist.

terrible..everytime I ring I am sent to an answering machine to email a message. These people DO NOT respond to you. PLEASE NOTE: Its appalling some data they have recorded is incorrect (apart from being incompetent) they dont care to fix it. I have three independent people who will state different to what National Archives have on record..why...because they are family of the people represented in the archive records and knew the individuals. This is massive how much history is incorrect?? Years ago they placed the unemployed in Vic Park on the computer to record all ship arrivals in W.A.and the passengers. There is no room for error. Well done, once again the Government taking shortcuts and saving money - at what cost???
