My eldest child (7yrs old) has been a member of Wilkes Martial Arts for a number of years with my middle son having joined a little over a year ago. All the staff are so welcoming, patient and kind, they have really helped develop my children's confidence and I will be enrolling my youngest once he is old enough to partake in the classes. Mr Mitchell, Ms Christophersen, Mr Cranny, Mr Erceg, Ms Pui and Mr Wilsnach lead the junior afternoon classes, and all of them are such fantastic individuals. They invest a lot of time into the lessons, teaching the children the physical skills of martial arts in a fun and enjoyable way. There is a big emphasis on respect and self discipline which the teachers ensure to explain every lesson, how this factors into their everyday lives. Wilkes Martial Arts is an excellent academy and I am really grateful to the team for everything they have done for my children thus far. Highly recommend this place if you are considering enrolling your child into martial arts.

Proud to call this dojo my home and family for many years. I was pushed the beyond my limits and broke through personal barriers time and time again. Dave and the crew are honestly some of the best people I've ever met. The passion and commitment to martial arts is clear from the get go. Ego free, friendly, but disciplined and strong. Quality people, quality training. Love this place, give it a bloody go!

Best gym in Perth. There are two well equipped training area's and a cage. The family friendly approach is a refreshing change from the alpha male attitude nurtured in the majority of most the gyms and dojos I have trained at. I've personally been going here for over 5 years and have represented the club in competition. There isn't an excuse not to join. If you're looking to get fit there are ample fitness and exercise classes, if you're interested in martial arts there is a variety of disciplines to choose from. Any age group from mini ninjas to old wise masters and of course entry level students to competitive. There is always support and motivation if you choose to test yourself and compete or just a family to train and talk to if you're just there to learn or get fit.

Fabulous place. They organised a self-defence lesson for my 16-year-old daughter and a group of friends. Couldn't have been better! Would most definitely recommend.

I first started at Wilkes back when it was Cobra. Since the changeover Wilkes has become far more family friendly and offers a wide variety of classes. David, Jackson and the team of instructors are dedicated in providing help and support for all students with their self defense, fitness and health goals. While disciplined there's still that social aspect of the academy where after the long hours and hard work put into every grading we all celebrate at the left bank. I've referred as many people as I can to Wilkes and will continue to do so. Keep it up guys!

I've trained BJJ at Wilkes under Rodrigo for the last 9 months, having come from another gym and was immediately made very welcome. Wilkes has a great atmosphere, everyone is very friendly, but also there to work hard. Rodrigo is an amazing BJJ coach - very generous with his time and knowledge and is always there at competitions offering support. He's also just a really good guy in general. I couldn't recommend Wilkes more.
