Arrived for lunch on the chef's day off. The bright young lass seated us, gave us a menu then returned and apologetically told us she was new and hadn't realised that it was the chef's day off. However he offered to come in to cook for us, but she explained that there would be a wait. No problem for us, we waited, had a few rounds of drinks, then amazingly good meals appeared, served by the chef himself! Lovely bloke, great food, no trouble at all. Country hospitality personified, including the charming young lady behind the bar. We were really grateful for the experience, thank you chef. Cheers

Not only are the staff brilliant, friendly and make you feel right at home, the beer garden big and beautiful, the vibe just pure country pub fun, but the food... THE FOOD!!!!! I have eaten pasta and pizza in Roma, Italy herself but hand on heart I would rather eat Mario’s pasta. The pizzas are also out of this world, the veal scaloppini, the schnitty’s even. So so so good. Cannot praise the whole team enough!!!!!

Fantastic service. Kitchen wasn't open however they made us lunch anyway, including a gluten free option. Highly recommended. Food was delicious.
