I have only ever read great reviews of this place and I have to say it didn’t really disappoint. When I made the booking a week or so ago I asked if we could be seated at a window seat and the person I spoke to wasn’t that happy or friendly when I asked, he made it out like it was an inconvenience. When we arrived we were seated at a window seat so that was nice. We both had a gin cocktail which were delicious, they were really refreshing and yummy. For my main I had the mussels in a white wine, saffron broth, it was yummy and you got a lot of mussels for what you paid for. In total for 2 people, 2 cocktails, 2 sides, and a dessert, it came to 160 so it wasn’t unreasonable around 80pp. I will come back and try the fine dining option next time as we were in the bistro this time.

Not exactly cheap, but you definitely do get what you pay for: a beautiful setting, amazing food and attentive staff. I'm not normally one to take pictures of my food, but grilled octopus with almost a fine Greek salad, peppers and a sprinkling of feta (!) as an entree was gorgeous - I had to fight my wife to get half of it in exchange for some of her tuna tartare. Relaxed, but smart - not overwhelming for what's still a once in a blue moon treat.
A very enjoyable lunch, despite the rainy weather. Service good, including putting us on a window table with a nice view across middle harbour. It was my wife's birthday, so they provided a complimentary dessert/birthday cake - a nice touch. The food, overall, was excellent, although I was a little underwhelmed by my duck breast entree. Can recommend the swordfish as a main. Delicious. Would return for a special occasion.
This is, without question, the best place to take visitors from overseas to give them the optimal Sydney experience. Such a beautifully set out building with the first class restaurant on one side and the lovely cafe on the other. The views are amazing of North Head with the Manly ferry seen passing each half hour. The food in both the restaurant and cafe is wonderful with lots of choice and good for both children and adults. Best to arrive early in the day for a parking spot and non-paying spots are available up any of the side streets. The walk along the shore is lovely and the surf is manageable for swimmers of all abilities. I recommend the cafe for brunch or lunch, and the restaurant for lunch or dinner. Just beautiful.
Great location and great fine dinning experience. We had a group dinning recently in the private room in this restaurant. We had a 3 course meal. The price is reasonable and the food was great. The restaurant is sitting right in front of the Belmoral beach, the view is fantastic! The staff were attentive and professional. It was a good experience.
Congratulations for those reviewer who gave 4-5 BUT Unfortunately we had very bad experience, to be honest Bathers' not even deserve 1 VERY DISAPPOINTED & NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL Today we had breakfast to celebrate me and my friend birthday. While we waited for our table; we just ask to keep our birthday cake in the fridge nothing else 1. We don't ask a fresh cutlery and plates when had our birthday cake 2. We don't ask a birthday cake candle 3. We don't ask Bathers' to create or decorate that Birthday cake But at the end Bathers' put it in our bill 5X6person (4adult and 2 kids)30 for cake charges (that cost of that birthday cake is less than 20) You NEED TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMER IN ADVANCE if by putting birthday cake in your fridge will get charges per person This also Bathers' need to tell customer in your main door if there is 10% surcharge for Sunday/Public Holiday as well I don't mind but again Bathers' management need to tell your customer in advance Apologize in advance for head chef, I do believe that you and your teams can create a nice, beautiful and tasty food, to be honest that food that you deliver is nothing special at all and no taste at all. You had perfect location, good atmosphere that is your advantage, do not waste that golden opportunity, by put so many charges especially putting birthday cake in your fridge while we wait for table and we will have our breakfast in your premises and you charge it for that....per person Hopefully this critic will make Bathers' improve and management take this seriously We realised all this after we arrived at home and wondering why having breakfast at Bathers' that costly Hopefully other customers will more carefully when they had breakfast or dine at Bathers'
As always, great ambience, delicious food and excellent service from our lovely wait staff, Gabriel! Celebrated my gf’s birthday and they even remembered her name and brought out dessert with Candle n bday wish carved on plate with chocolate!! How amazing is that!! Beautiful views despite the rain! Many many thanks Bathers for a wonderful time!
Loved, loved, loved the food here. Felt authentic, tasted amazing, great service, nice wine list and while it wasn't cheep, it didn't break the bank! Plus the views are amazing... I'd highly recommend you make the time for a visit! Your tummy will thank you!
