Great service friendly on time well priced
My brother Ryan took his car in for a the tensioner to be replaced. Most mechanics wouldn’t have the special tool to remove this so my brother went to Moorooka Nissan because they told him that they’ll e able to do it and have the special tool. On the 1st visit they checked and confirmed that the tensioner is vibrating and making a noise. So we bought the part ourselves as it’s cheaper and they agreed to fit it in. On the 2nd visit they tried to put the tensioner and whoever the mechanic (Asian / Korea looking) ended up damaging the alternator and told Ryan that he’ll have to pay around 600 for a new one. So he did because he knew nothing, and they gave the old parts back to him. When I visited him, I inspected the old alternator and noticed how the alternator pulley has some scratches and dents on the teeth, to what looks like the mechanic tried to use a prying bar to remove the belt. Too afraid to admit it and told my brother that there’s something wrong when originally there wasn’t anything wrong with it. I will be contacting them directly for this as this is just wrong and it’s putting a bad name for the dealership. A good mechanic is a honest mechanic except for this guy who worked on my brothers car.
I had the absolute worst experience at Nissan Moorooka service center. I will spare you all the details of the story but the person who handled my case was really mean. She lied several times to force me to pay up to 12,000 in repairs. She threatened to not release my car when I decided to go somewhere else. She categorically refused to hand my case to someone else and stubbornly made everything worse resulting in me and my family not having a car for weeks. I had been there for servicing for years and never had an issue. When things are ok and you just pay your bi annual 600 service it's all good but be careful for when there is an issue. Nissan seems to avoid any responsibility on their products and that person in particular had a direct interest in maximizing the amount of money I would pay. This caused me a lot of stress and when I usually don't review places or avoid fussing, I promised myself to leave a review, even though it could seem pointless. Sincerely, Ben
