This has turned out to be our favourite winery and restaurant. The wines are just beautiful, the food is yummy and creative that changes with the seasons, with flavours you could only dream of creating, the views stunning but so importantly the team at Stumpy are just wonderful, friendly, welcoming and so appreciative of you supporting them. Excellent food! For entree - calamari and kingfish and for mains - pressed lamb shoulder and duck. All dishes were tasty and well presented. Could not fault.
Excellent service and Friendly staffs, topped with delicious steak and mousse dessert. Spacious and pram friendly.
Wine tasting was excellent. The lady was lovely and very knowledgeable. Wines were fantastic. However we were quite disappointed with the 3 cheese board (36) - very overpriced and extremely small servings (size of a 50c piece). Also, we were going to order a bottle of wine for the table only to find it was over 50% more in price to drink it at the table than to buy it to take home.
This was excellent. I have had kingfish in a few Melbourne restaurants but this was without doubt the best. The duck was perfect - just cooked but very tender with a perfect sauce and garnish. The chocolate desert was superb. All courses very well cooked, very well presented, perfect size and delicious. 9 out of 10. It would have been 10/10 but I reckon the duck fat potatoes I do myself are slightly better....
Have been to Stumpy Gully a few times and have always enjoyed my experience there. The food is just scrumptious and the wines superlatively good. The ambience is also just fantastic. Can’t wait to go there again, with some very special friends.
The food was acceptable however the prices and value for money in my opinion are low. There are essentially no vegetarian or vegan options and because the menu was online it was extremely difficult to read on a small phone. Which brings me to the very small portion sizes. While they are well presented, don't expect to leave feeling content. Also, be aware there are only 4-5 entre and 4-5 main options.
Had a lovely afternoon with family and friends at Stumpy Gully Winery.the everything was great, food perfect and presented well, staff so attentive.Also enjoyed their wines !
