I have been volunteering here for the last 3 years which I love doing! ... It is a no kill policy animal rescue facility with lots of different cats and dogs for anyone who is looking at expanding their family. Make sure if you are wanting to adopt a pet that you truly understand the responsibility of taking home an animal in terms of their needs, what is involved and how best to train them. There are wonderful cats and dogs at Monika's waiting for a new home! Check out the website and see if any interest you! Its important to book an appointment with the animal you'd like to meet. One thing I quite like about Monika's is that people are not coming in and out all the time so the animals don't get fatigued and potentially scared if they are not big on crowds. They feed the animals really well and look after them as best they can! Check out the website too for anything you may like to donate and help keep them running!

The rescue by which all should be measured. So much praise for this amazing place. Monika personally took the time in her very busy day to meet & walk with us, helping in the gentle introduction of my husky to the new rescue boy & even giving us permission to take him out for a 'cafe date' to be sure we knew exactly what he is like in a more realistic environment. Her volunteers & staff are such beautiful, genuinely caring people - some who came out to the car for a teary hug goodbye of the beautiful rescue boy adopted. Thank you Monika & team - your incredible care of this boy shows in his chilled nature on his first night in his new home - no nerves or anxiety - for a rescue pet, this is unprecedented & extraordinary!

Most of the staff here are volunteers, doing the work for the love of keeping these precious animals out of hurtful situations and hands. Apart from the adoption services, I take part in the service of dog walking. It has been an invaluable mental health service during covid for my wife and I as well ( I hope) offers a complimentary service to the staff and most importantly the pups. Couldn't ask for a more caring and thoughtful business & Staff

Monika, Meena, Catherine & team are such amazing people and doing an incredible job looking after all the cats & dogs, many of which have been rescued from poor conditions. You can tell how much they all care & as a result they want to make sure their animals are going to the right home!! I would highly recommend talking to them if you are interested in adopting a cat or dog. They also let you borrow their beautiful dogs for a walk!!

Rubbish. Bureaucracy stops good people from either seeing dogs, never mind adopting. Better get a dog on gumtree. We turned up, they don't let you in. You have to email.. and apparently they call back in a few days.. but you need to know which dog you want.

Do not donate. Don't waste your time on this org. I'm horrified to see so many dogs still up for adoption YEARS later. Leo, Wiggles, Dezzy and beautiful Mabel to name a few. What does it take for these dogs to be adopted? Even through COVID when other rescues were empty, these dogs could not find perfect homes. Many are kept in a kennel environment. Yet advertisements will say they need a yard, ample space to run, rescue experience etc. If you keep them in a kennel all of the time, of course they have behavioural and health issues. Of course they are not well socialised with other dogs. So many people - good people with experience have tried to adopt dogs from Doggie Rescue but it is made so difficult. Monika - listen to the reviews! Take the time to get to know the people trying to adopt. Yes, not all homes are right, but don't be ruined by the bad ones. Surely someone who has enquired about poor Leo, Wiggles, or Dezzy has been a good home with experience or willing to learn everything they need. Don't keep them for yourself. They deserve the full attention of a forever home and not to be poster dogs for donations.

The negative reviews are true. Condescending, arrogant, judgemental, power-trippy. It’s all about Monika and not about the dogs. Owning a home with a yard does not equate to being a good owner - but this is precisely their primary (seems like ONLY) criteria. If you don’t live in a place with a closed of yard large enough , an acreage or a farm — don’t even try to apply if you’re in an apartment. If you live in an apartment you’re immediately a bad fit. End of, no ifs no but. Ironically the government is changing legislation to allow dog ownership is apartments but it doesn’t matter for this rescue. I get that rescues have to be discerning to ensure that their rescues end up in loving homes but the impression I get is they’re also absolutely OVERLY CRITICAL — their dogs need to end up in MANSIONS/ACREAGES/FARMS..... If land is money and is the first and only criteria - then these rescues only go to rich people who can stay home..... their logic for a the perfect dog owner for their rescue. This place inadvertently makes you want to just purchase an expensive dog rather than rescue one of theirs.

We recently adopted our beautiful Staffie girl Chiquita from here and it was wonderful every step. Monica took good care to ensure we were the right fit, and we are so in love with our new addition. Highly recommend adopting from here
