The Kids Shed is focused on teaching children woodworking skills but occasionally we may delve into the realms of other materials to create our masterpieces. Apart from making beautiful wood creations, your child will also be learning many other skills. Woodworking involves a great deal of mathematics, hand-eye coordination, problem solving and creative thinking. Each set of projects are interesting, fun to make and developmentally appropriate for the ages of the children involved. Learning to use tools is not only a great way to start a new hobby, it also empowers your child with valuable life skills. Perth Kids Shed offers a comprehensive schedule of courses during the school term as well as intensive classes and parties during the school holidays and on weekends. The Kids Shed also offers private tuition for home schooled children as well as those wishing to undertake more substantial projects. Term classes run on an 8 week term beginning one week after school starts.
