Metford is a quiet, railway station, with no station staff. Elevators are equipped here, so are benches and shelter. Services come frequently as well.

Don't know how I survived past childhood using this train station daily

Metford station is a marginal electorate motivated white elephant expensively provided with frequently vandalised elevators and excessive ample parking. The majority of urban Metford is nowhere near the station. There are no convenient facilities nearby except extremely long footpaths to access the distant residential areas. To the annoyance of most passengers, all trains stop here.

Okay ish station but it's unstaffed (So no staff members) and as of January 2017 is still missing an Opal top-up machine but they removed the old Cityrail ticket machine a while back so I don't know what the hold up is with the new opal machine top-up install. If you don't have an opal card you can't really pay for the trip here, so you'll need to go to Victoria Street station instead which I believe has an Opal top-up machine, if not I believe it's either East Maitland or Maitland station that's the next station up towards Telarah that has an Opal top-up machine. Thornton has one too but not Metford, what gives? Wouldn't recommend getting off here after dark either. Metford is known for it's issues and crimes and with the unmanned station and broken CCTV Cameras here I wouldn't ever feel safe hoping off here during the night. During the day it's okay I guess but just watch out for the ferrals that live around here.
