Despite google telling us otherwise this is not a dog beach. But an unfenced “grass and bbq area/park” that is dog friendly. Dogs are banned on the beach. Suggest red head beach instead.

Just another beautiful Newcastle beach
Lovely spot for the little one's. Got a good play area and BBQ and shelter and close to the beach for them hot day's. Loved going there when I was a kid and still today with my own kid's.
Fantastic beach for all beach activities
There is no such place as Merewether North Beach!!!! It is Dixon Park. If anything, locals call a break, and a short stretch of beach, between Merewether and Dixon park, Pogo's , short for Pogonovsky's. ... Spellings probably incorrect!
Dogs don't surf so don't take them to the beach. Too much dog poo.
