Authentic Oriental food maybe, but it tastes stale and vague and actually how or what does it taste? You can't pinpoint any taste. To answer Ramen Ya, First we were served with Veg pad thai when we ordered chicken. Then upon informing they changed the dish. The chicken was stale and old and hard. The taste was not sour, not sweet, not saucy, the noodles was a bit overcooked. It was kind of vague and not tasty at all. And 12 AUD for this dish??? It is a joke.

OK JAPANESE NOODLE SHOP IN BASEMENT OF EMPORIUM This is one of several small eateries on the lower floor at Emporium. The advantage of these is that they are less busy than the outlets in the main food court on level 3. The disadvantage are that they are slightly lower quality. This one is quite OK but my favourite on this level is the Vietnamese noodle shop (Pho Nom).

I'm not a ramen expert but I know what I like. People are very passionate about their noods. I ordered the chashu ramen noodles with kim chi. I could have done without the kim chi only because the ramen was already flavourful. I just ate the kim chi on it's own as fermented food is good for the gut. You're paying emporium prices for ramen here but the premises are clean and output is consistent. The premises aren't cramped like other ramen places so there's increased comfort too.

Great spot for tasty ramen for lunch or a quickish snack. Noodles are nicely cooked and the chicken crisp and not too oily. Is in the basement street stall area rather than the main food hall area upstairs. Use the electronic guide board if you get last.

Waited for almost 40 minutes for this when there were not many people sitting in. When I grabbed my table number to ask for a refund the girl disappeared immediately and reappeared shortly with my ramen and told me the machine is broken. And then she dropped the plate at a nearby table. I had to bring it back to my table. I think that if it's really the machine problem they should at least let me know by the time I was ordering rather than kept me waiting while I was super starving.

It was good. They made food, which didn't give me the squirts (so far) and the char pork ramen bowl was decent. Go prior to lunchtime, around 11am or so, and have the place to yourself.
