ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE MORE FOR THE AMBIANCE THAN THE FOOD Dined with a very fussy friend at Felt for the first time on a Thursday evening. My friend arrived first and grabbed the table by the window. The restaurant entrance is via steps (wheelchair lift also available) and through a rather grand doorway. The restaurant is within the Lindrum Hotel and blends in seamlessly with the other parts of the hotel ground floor. We went for the selection plate which consisted of a selection of small dishes served sequentially. The dishes were all fine... but not five star quality. They lacked a little on presentation and creativity. The waitress kindly changed the dessert option for us as my fussy friend wasn't keen on what sounded like a delicious chocolate dessert!! She organised three gelato bowls instead. The service was good - unobtrusive, anticipatory and .. as my fussy friend spilt food on herself, the waiter was there in an instant with a cloth :) We accompanied the food with Asian beers and sparkling water and later adjourned to the very comfortable couch in the bar area to have a cup of tea to end the meal. All up for the two of us it came to approximately 200. The interior decoration is very tasteful. It's not noisy and the hussle and bussle of the kitchen is hidden from you. People with mobility issues will be fine once they negotiate the steps and the rather heavy front door as the restaurant, bar and toilets are all on the one level. Everything is very well maintained and it's really quite pleasant just soaking up the atmosphere. We'll go again and try an a la carte selection instead of the selection plate.. or perhaps the high tea which looked very tempting in the photographs on the menu! This would be a good choice for a quiet dinner for two, a small group, or even dining alone.

As part of our Accor weekend we enjoyed a special meal at Felt. They have a new (relativly) chef, he is English youn and seems full of new ideas, his take on modernizing English cuisine was quite special, I can recomend sitting down gtto eat a meal cooked by Felt's new English chef.

Cute and intimate dining room. Extremely friendly staff that is known for going above and beyond. Nice place for a quiet meal alone or date night (breakfast or lunch). Definitely recommend the Barramundi with a glass of the Heathcoate Shiraz.

The great reviews brought me and my partner here. We had fairly high hopes as the menu looked delicious. We had the chefs set menu which comprised of 6 meals in three courses. The stars were the carpaccio and the asparagus. Both were excellent. Everything else was ok. Not bad but also not particularly fresh or tasty. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere felt like we were in a hotel lobby. Probably not worth it for the price. I have a feeling we may not be the clientele they were aiming to cater for. If we did not come with high expectations given the price and reviews we may have rated it higher.

Its a small restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. We went here on a friday night and the service was outstanding! Small but good menu options. The olive nibbles were not pitted, which i thought was very strange. The steak was very good. The Hapuka was nice too. The rhubarb crumble was not. The creme brulee was good. Price is high compared to the quality of food. They take AccorPlus memberships. Overall we had a good meal
