An amazing lookout and should not be missed if you are in Apollo Bay. There are limited spots in the car park so it’s good to arrive early. It’s a short walk (approx 10 mins) to the lookout with steep gravel paths in some sections. Young children may need to be carried. Once you reach the lookout you can sit on the grass and take in the breathtaking coastline scenery.

Great little walk. Would recommend walking all the way from the shops rather than driving up then walking. That way you get a good bit of exercise on the way up. Great view of the bay and lots of interesting birds to see on the way.

Gorgeous view over Apollo Bay at Mariners Outlook, even with the cloud cover. Bit of a steep climb, which made it a little uncomfortable for my back problems but worth the effort, just watch coming back down the path as it has a lot of loose gravel, which will quickly have you undone if your not overly steady of your feet. Its a surreal experience when you realise how far up, you actually are, as it doesn't look that high on the maps. There is a lovely grassy knoll at the top, where you can lay your picnic rug and sit and soak up the view. Love to come back again on a clear sunny day. The trees along the walk are interesting and its a pity the blackberries had long since finished. All in all a nice point of interest, one of many in Apollo Bay, which makes this little haven a much sort after tourist destination. Every place in town was well patronised with visitors, buying everything from apparels, food and drinks and the ice-cream shop had a wait line of half a block, as too the fish co-op on the wharf. Lovely destination along the Great Ocean Road between Lorne and Port Campbell, hope they bring back the Music Festival again one day and the Seafood Festival again next year to make up for the cancelled covid one this year.

Absolutely loved this lookout. It is very close to the Apollo bay town center (barely 6 mins drive) and is the one not to be missed. The lookout offers spectacular views of the ocean, the Apollo bay town, and the beaches. The colours on display are simply breathtaking.

Our one day trip for Great Ocean Road ended with this beautiful lookout point. Just as the name suggests, it truly is an amazing lookout point. You can see the beautiful town of Apollo Bay on one side, water on the other two sides and amazing green hilly terrain at the back. It a bit of a walk from the car park and it may seem that there’s not much to see. But, my advise that don’t leave by reading “steep walk” on the board near the park. The walk would be just worth it.

Great lookout with a steep walk. There is no shelter at the top at all so don’t go on a bad weather day - you will get blown off!

Nice view. Also great to see on a full moon night with no clouds.

Small narrow drive from GOR and little walk from the car park and the view is just beautiful. We visited just when the sun was setting the sky looked beautiful. Visited on a cloudy day so couldn’t see much stars. Spent a few hours there with the setting sun and the view. Definitely take jackets as it gets really cold after sunset and have a great time! It gets really dark I would recommend taking torches if you are planning to stay till dark.
