Newtown police is the best. Friendly, effective, fast response... They get abused day and night but they handle things extremely professionally.

I couldn’t be more disappointed. I’ve lost all faith in the system.

Effectively inept, this station will give you the usual excuses before disconnecting your call whilst transferring you. It seems that they rely heavily on community resources yet can't effectively follow up on basic complaints or investigations. Pretty much just a bunch of teenagers with guns. It won't be any great loss losing this LAC.

Dangerous and reckless driving is a criminal offence. I was almost hit by a car as I was leaving the pedestrian crossing in front of Dulwich Hill station this morning. I called Marrickville Police Station and was able to provide the registration number and a description of the drivers hair colour. The first officer I spoke to was friendly but said there is really nothing they can do as they didn't see it happening. There were potential witnesses but the police officer just left it at that and said he will make a note of it in case someone else calls with a further incident. He didn't ask for my name or number. He didn't ask which direction the driver was heading. The driver was speeding downhill and had an unobstructed clear view of me. He speed towards me so that I was only just able to get onto the footpath in time. He seemed to come out of nowhere and just continued speeding down the hill without looking back. A driver that was stopped on the opposite side of the zebra stripes, beeped his horn and shook his head in disbelief at what he'd witnessed. There would be video footage as it happened right in front of Dulwich Hill station. I called the back to reiterate that the man was also speeding which I felt I may have forgotten to mention in my first call as I was quite shaken. The female officer who answered this time just said "ok no worries" and hung up. I feel let down by this as it was a scary experience and this driver is going unchecked. This incident happened at 9.52am on Saturday the 6th of July. The vehicle licence plate is AQV30W and the male driver was alone and had grey/ white hair. I do not remember the colour or make of the car. I reported this to Marrickville Police Station at 9.55am.
