We were instructed by the guy on the phone to come to a later class as he said the class would be smaller. However as beginners, arriving at high tide with the picked up breeze made it tough going for first timers. If you want to learn, perhaps pay the extra for a private class and start at low tide where you can gain skills and confidence.

Ridiculously overcrowded with very little time for instruction. It’s essentially just wetsuit and surfboard hire for 80 mins. I paid 65 for each of my kids for a ‘2 hour’ lesson. They walked up the beach for 20 mins, before they even got in the water. There were 3 instructors (2 of which seemed to be very new to the school and only really directed traffic) for a very large class. It was so crowded in the water that it wasn’t even worth being there. After 80 mins of running into each other due to no space, they got out of the water and then walked 20mins back up the beach again. The 40min walking time is included in the 2 hour lesson time. I spoke to the head instructor about it and his response was “that’s just surfing Mate” If you can only do it on a weekend, I recommend watching a youtube video on ‘beginner surfing tips’ and then just renting a surfboard.
Everyone who works at this store is super friendly! Instructors give great feedback and they remember your face :)) I’ve been 5 times (group lesson) and have had different instructors every lesson but did not disappoint once! Thank you guys for making the surf lessons fun \u003c3
My kids had their first surfing lessons at palm beach location and the coaches are very friendly and experience. They will look after each individual's ability and needs. Location is fantastic as there is area for beginner and for more skillful surfers. Great experience, and beautiful beach. We will definitely be back.
Thanks my daughter and her friends have had an amazing time having lessons with you. Your teachers have been incredible and supportive. Super impressed. Thanks
Kids had fun, the instructors were patient and made sure kids had a chance to pop up and surf. I was on edge watching the kids in the water filled with blue bottles, most of them got stung. Not a bad location, but we had to walk a fair bit to the lesson area and at the end carry the surf boards back... which was tiring... but oh well...
The staff is great: the perfect combination of laid back but attentive and watchful so you can get the feedback you need. The packages are of good value too and pretty close to what you'd pay for only gear hire, but with the added benefit of guidance. I recommend showing up even on a cold & rainy day because you'll find that it's much easier than you expected and nowhere near as cold with their wetsuits!
Fantastic instructors for my 8 and 6 year old. Patient and professional. Great spot to learn.
