Horrible after sales service! Makita service phone number is 9905 0988. I have an 18V whipper snipper model Makita DUR182L. The bump feed head plastic part has sheared off, it's only 3 years old so it's out of warranty. Tried to purchase a replacement part via calling the line above, can't purchase the particular component only as they only sell entire nylon head unit replacement, part number 196589-5, which costs 45. Not only at a rip off price, but you must buy it via a retailer (such as Sydney Tools) as Makita don't sell directly to the public. Minimum lead time 2 weeks. Great product overall but horrible after sales service, seriously pick up your game Makita! How difficult is it to set up a decent after sales service... Hopefully someone in Makita management reads this post. Andrew Walker

Purchased a saw 8 months ago, was cutting a piece of American white oak when the saw kicked back and wouldn’t work again, sent back for repair and was told it wasn’t under warranty, the repair bill was more than buying a new one. Even got told by the service centre where I returned it that Makita will do anything to get out of a warranty issue I’m done with Makita, Milwaukee has superior tools and better customer service and warranty

POOR QUALITY PRODUCT, Do not purchase this brand. I purchased a Makita brand chainsaw that’s not working and defective since the day I picked it up. Claimed that it has be repaired but it is still not working with smoke coming out of machine. Now 6 months after my purchase, I have still not been able to use it at all, NOT EVEN ONCE!

Today I went to get my Makita drill brushes I was offered a check up at no cost... WOW Also they said they will look at the battery for me too. I went with 0 expectation of even getting the part and I left with a 10 out of 10 experience. Great people make great brands extra special. Thanks Makita.

The service cervice centre is awesome. I've brought old cordless tools here a few times to be fixed. The staff are helpful. They know their stuff. They quote you before they do anything. And so far everything has been surprisingly affordable. Take your Makita stuff here.

I took my power saw in for repair , was very surprised to be advised within 2 days ,that it was ready to collect , no charge courtesy repair, whilst there may have been not much wrong with it, i would have been happy to pay a service fee, first time i have had something fixed for nothing , wonderful service , thankyou Steve Draper and the service team, i have to buy a chain saw now and it will be a Makita brand.
