Maitland station is a very easy to access station for people with a disability and has parking available on northern side if station and a close drop off zone for dropping off and picking up of commuters. The bus terminal is also on that side of station and there is a taxi rank there as well. Lifts service each platform and the buildinga are in good condition. The facade of old buildings at station are very nice as well. I use the station on a regular basis and finfmd the staff helpful. Opal cards are used for paying for trips on inner city services. A good 8.5 rating from 10

Maitland is the main railway station for the Hunter Line. It provides services to the North West (Armidale/Moree), the North Coast, Dungog, Muswellbrook/Scone and Newcastle Interchange. However, I don't like the fact that it has no frequent direct Sydney Terminal services as passengers have to change trains at Hamilton. With the NSW Government bringing in the NIF D Sets that are 10 cars long and can be split into a 6 and 4 car trains; I just can't understand why the line has no electrification especially when the station has 6 platforms. Also, the Cessnock branch line which was closed back in 1974 should be reopened again making the residents feel happy. If the electrification does arrive, the stopping pattern for the NIF D Sets should be after leaving Maitland - Victoria Street, Metford, Thornton, Beresfield, Waratah, Broadmeadow, Cardiff, Fassifern, Morisset, Wyong, Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy, Hornsby, Epping, Strathfield and Sydney Terminal.

When will the New South Wales electrify the line between Maitland (Telarah) & Newcastle Interchange? Or have they run out of money after building 3 new cuddle-pile stadiums in Sydney, a new metro underneath existing railway lines & trams to make hipsters in Sydney feel happy?

A great looking train station that is well maintained. Has ample parking that is a short walk away and close to other public transport.

A nice train station, you have commuter's parking available. It's situated in a busy stretch of road and if your thinking of walking to the city centre it's a good 10 minutes of walking.
