Great place for University students to live. The units are well maintained and the students were given a flower for Valentine's Day
It’s one of the worst experience of the life, and I only stayed there for a week. When I arrived they did not have my room ready, kept changing rooms and the staff were just so unhelpful and incompetent. They showed no sympathy for my circumstances, treated me like I did not understand what was happening although only one advisor knew what she was talking about but still she could not help you. I highly did not recommend staying at these dorms, it’s a waste of money, all the extra fees and add on and cancellation is a nightmare. They are only lowering prices now due to Covid-19 but I can’t imagine someone wanting to live/pay for such a place that is so unprofessional and only money hungry.
Not as crazy as it used to be two years ago when it came to partying. Too expensive and the new management is just trying to rip students off through absurd cleaning charges, late fee penalties etc. You can find much better and cheaper accomodation on the same street!
I have lived in the village for two and a half years. It was a good experience for me. The place is quite and people are welcoming. There is always something happening: a gathering on the deck, a social event organized by the admin or you can just walk around and talk to people. On the other hand, they have strict rules the helped me finish my degree comfortably: no loud music after a certain hour. I made some good friends and got to know the staff closely. Its a well rounded and balanced stay to stay it. you can focus on your study and not feel alone at the same time.
I have lived 3 years in the village, 9 month in a normal room in east side and the rest in a premium room in west side. There are the most diversified students living there with different nationality, age, field of study and of course desires. If you are or going to be a student at Macquarie uni and willing to not only focus on your academic life on the campus and willing to learn more social and house-sharing skills, then village should be on the top of your choices! The rents at Macquarie village are more reasonable for a student compared to the outside accommodations where perhaps none of the utility bills, the unlimited Macquarie Internet network, laundry facilities and the 24/7 residence assistants are included within the rent. Village has enabled me to go through my student life as smooth and effective as it could be, I met so many different people whom many of them has become my friends and we have thereby made valuable memories and learnt so many lessons together!
